We received an inquiry from a John Sellers, re:  Ella Sellers.  Our reply to
the e-address we were given (jsellers@ais.net) has been returned.  Are any of you the intended recipient???    WFPyle

My Name is William F. Pyle, son of the Ivan Lamar Pyle, grandson of
William Pyle and great grandson of
John Pyle who married Frances Ella Sellers.
The only info that I have regarding Frances was located from a newspaper
obituary for John Pyle approx 1914.  It states that "Ella" Sellers was married to
John in 1872.  Three children were born and in 1914 only William was still alive.
Ella died in 1878.
If you wish further info on the Pyle family since William, I can provide you with additional data.
Please share whatever data you have on Lillian (Ella).
Thank you.

Obit from some local newspaper (probably Marshall, Illinois) - the newspaper clipping I have does not include the date nor the name of the newspaper.

Death of John Pyles

John Pyles died last Saturday at the homeof his sister, Mrs. Hetty Lindley, near West Union (Illinois) after a brief illness, aged 67 years.  He was born in Clark County (this is in error, he was born in Licking County, Ohio) Mar. 15, 1847, the sixth in a family of 10 children, five of whom survive. He was the son of William and Sarah Pyles, pioneer residents of Melrose Township and his entire life was spent in that township.  For the past few years he has made his home with his brother George, except a small part of the time which he spent with his sister, Mrs. Lindley.

In 1872 he married Ella Sellers.  To them were born three children, only one of whom survives--
William who lives in a western state (Covina, California).
His wife passed away in 1878.  In 1901 he united with the M.P.Church and lived a consistent Christian life.  He leaves a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn his departure.  Funeral services were held at Ohio Church Monday(West Union), conducted by Rev. B. S. Billings; interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Subject: Ella Sellers/PYLE

In March, 2002, I wrote you regarding your search for info on an Ella Sellers.  I have now relocated to California and have a new e-mail address (see above).  Has your research tied my great grandfather (John Pyle born 1847 in Licking County, Ohio) in with your records?  My John Pyle moved to Clark County, IL in the 1840's and lived in Melrose and York Townships.Clark County borders the state of Indiana.  Please let me know if you have further information.
Thanks - William (Bill) Pyle.
