Dear Carol,

Thank you for your reply. I would be interested in joining your Pridgen
Family Group, and would appreciate more info.

The Matthew Pridgen will caught my eye because he refers to giving to his
daughter Deborough in the event she became a widow one hundred acres
between
his place and William Miller's. As mentioned earlier William Miller was my
ggg grandfather. William Miller b. 1786 NC, d. 1865 AL, in the 1820 census
for Sampson County, NC on page 312 indeed lived next door to Matthew
Pridgen.

In the fall of 1833, William Miller and about 11 families made up of
Millers, Johnsons, and Pridgens left NC, moved to Screven, Dooly, Sumter
counties in GA. They lived there for about seven years and then migrated to
Dale, Coffee counties in AL.

The Pridgens in that wagon train, was Margaret Pridgen, b.April 26, 1809,
NC- d. June 09, 1875 AL, She married George Johnson, son of John Johnson,
and grandson of Ephraim Johnson of Sampson County, NC, and Margarets
brothers, Allen Wright Pridgen, b.October 03, 1814, NC-d. August 20, 1877
AL, and Luke Pridgen b. unknown d. unknown. Luke is mentioned as a son in
Matthew Pridgen's will.

In the 1830 Sampson census, William Miller lived near to Rebecca Pridgen,
the widow of Matthew.Next door to Rebecca we find George Johnson and wife
Margaret, and Jane Pridgen. Between William Miller and Jane Pridgen, lived
Federick Hutson, relationship to Pridgen family unknown. These all appear
on
page 177.

The Pridgens that migrated to AL married into the Miller and Johnsons
several times over. It is believed that William Miller's wife was Sarah
Johnson, however this has never been proven, and there is the possibility
that she was also a Pridgen.

Thank you for any help you may have. Also, please let me know about the
Pridgen group you mentioned.
