but, don't believe I have read/extracted the family data from same
OR if anyone has info - Please Send
They were NOT on the 1860 Towns Co, Ga census
AND he should be on an 1850 CENSUS with family -
I am new to the list, but I have been researching Hile SELLERS off and on for
a long time. William Washington was my great grandfather. Hile, I believe
was short for Jehiel (or Jahiel) I found him with his parents in the 1850
census for Cherokee Co. North Carolina.
Parents are David SELLERS , 43 yrs. and Clarrissa, 41 yrs.
Children: Susanna B. 20 yrs., Jane S. 19 yrs., Mary A. 17 yrs., Ann C. 16
yrs., Jehiel 15 yrs., Elizabeth 13 yrs., Felix 11 yrs., James 9 yrs., Enos M.
7 yrs., George 2 yrs.
This census says that they are all born in NC. The 1870 & 1880 census say
Hile was born in Georgia. I've seen a lot of conflicts in the birthplaces in
I have seen a genealogy in Family Tree Maker that says that David was
PA and died there as well. It also says that Clarrissa's last name was MOORE.
I have not proved this yet, and might not even try except that FTM also gives
Clarissa's brothers and sisters names and they are very similar to David and
That family: James MOORE 1779, Jane (Jenie) STEVENSON 1782, Clarissa
(Clearsy) 1810-1878, Avalene 1812, Jehile 1814, Terzy 1816, Albert 1819,
Marcella Jane 1823.
If anyone has more information or different information, I would love to hear
