[LACKEY] LACKEY, Adam Allen

I don't know the parents of Adam Allen Lackey, but I have some notes (see below) that I haven't had time to research that indicate that perhaps his father was Samuel Lackey, b. 1762 in PA. The names of Campbell and Alexander would seem to fit with Adam's children's names. It has been a long time since I have given this branch of the family much attention. IV.3. James Campbell, son of Alexander Campbell (III), was born July 22, 1792, and died July 11, 1855. He married his cousin Margaret Campbell Doak, who was the daughter of Mary Campbell (IV.2) and David Doak, who lived near Greenville, Va. James Campbell lived on a farm long owned by Samuel Lackey, on the headwaters of Mill Creek, about a mile from the Timber Ridge Station, on the B. and O. R.R. He built the house there. He bought from the other heirs their interest in the Rockbridge Alum Springs, and he spent the last years of his life there. He built and owned the Sellers house, on S. Main St., Lexington, Va. His wife was born September, 1801, and died May 9, 1836. James Campbell and Margaret Campbell Doak had seven children:
