Mrs. Esker Blendon Sellers, 97, died April 5, at Canterbury Villa Nursing
home in Gatesville.
Services were held April 7, at Jonesboro Methodist Church with Rev.
Wesley
Jones officiating. Burial was in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
Born Jan. 4, 1890 in the Hay Valley community, she was the daughter
of
the late C.E. and Susan Grant. She was raised and attended school in
the
Hay Valley community.
She married Albert J. Sellers July 5, 1905 in Jonesboro.
He preceded her in death in 1968. She was a housewife. She was a charter
member of the Jonesboro Friendship and Crafts Club and a member of the
Jonesboro Methodist Church.
Survivors include: four daughters, Mrs. Thelma Baize of Lampasas, Mrs.
Fleta Young and Mrs. Mable Sue Hanes of Jonesboro and Mrs. Ellie Warren
of Gatesville; two sons, Lawrence Sellers of Evant and Wallace Sellers
of Silver City, NM; four sisters, Mrs. Wilma Balch and Mrs. Nettie Wilson
of Fort Worth, Mrs. Bertha Grimlind of Amarillo and Mrs. Lillian Lilljedahl
of Houston; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 15
great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers at the funeral were John Sellers, Gene Sellers, Jimmy Sellers,
Donnie Sellers, David Sellers, Bruce Baize and Jackie Chapman.

Prudence Robbins Sellers was a mid-wife. She died at the age of 69
coming
home from a birth in a carriage accident. She and Almond went to Pancake,
Coryell Co., TX about 1850 with Almond's sister Rebecca Sellers Boyd
Kellar.
There are some great bios and pictures of the family and related familes
in the History of Coryell Co., which I found at my nearby FHC. Almond
married after Prudence's death to Martha T. Franklin.

There is a history of Coryell County Texas that has bios on the Sellers
and related family. I found a copy at the FHC near me. Pictures and
everything.
Joel is burried in the Wood School Cemetery near Jonesboro in Coryell
family.
The Sellers came to Coryell about 1850/51 and lived in a town called
Babbsville or Pancake.

GATESVILLE, "near COWHOUSE MTS., LEON RIVER".
I've been to the library in Gatesville, TX and she was not mentioned
in the
Mortality Schedule for 1870 nor in any of the cemetery rosters.
Now I'm wondering if she might be listed in a roster for this LITTLE
COW
HOUSE CEMETERY and if there are such COWHOUSE MTNS. Do you or anyone

Co. TX 5 Jul 1860. The only other Elizabeth Sellers on the 1860 Coryell
co. Census married someone else.
The only family that contained a Martha and Elizabeth of about the correct
ages and birth states on the 1850 AL Census was in Pike
Co.:
