In 1819, so far as I can find any accurate record, there were but three. These were Thomas Fite, John Spencer, and James T. Randolph. In that year Luke Biggs settled about four miles west of where Trenton now stands, and John Eubanks settled near the present site of Bell's Chapel.
In 1822 there were six families in the county. These were the families of Thomas Fite, Isaac Sellers, Luke Biggs, and John Eubanks on the west side; Oliver Blakemore and James Blakemore on the east side. David Crockett became a citizen of the region in 1822, settling a little east of where the town of Rutherford now stands.
In 1822 and 1823 settlers entered the county rapidly from Middle Tennessee,
East Tennessee, and North Carolina; so that early in 1824, when the county
government was inaugurated, the county had a considerable population. As evidence
that North
Carolina contributed most to the settlement of Gibson County, by far the
larger portion of the population of the county to-day is composed of
the descendants of North Carolina ancestors. At the time of the organization
of the county there were probably within its limits five hundred persons.

Gibson Co, Tn, Nancy SELLERS married 1831 Andrew Blair.
If you have worked out a chart on Nancy SELLERS parents, would
appreciate sharing info - I haven't tied her to anyone, except the Blair
family was closely associated with a John SELLERS in Gibson Co,
I
believe he died ca 1829.
This Robert SELLERS didn't have a child this age.
Isaac SELLERS has a daughter Nancy.
I believe we may be connected to ROBERTSON

Subject: Biggs
Surname: Biggs, Sellers, Forrester, Fletcher
-------------------------
I also have a Reubin Biggs, born abt 1811, in Gibson Co in 1850. He
married
Elizabeth Sellers, whose family also came out of NC. Could this Reubin
be Reubin Jr? The Sellers family was also connected to the Forrester
family
and the Fletcher family, both of which came to TN early from NC.

Subject: Zellars
I found a picture of Miss Ester Zellars, Jackson TN & what a beauty she
is,in my BARRETT grandparents' belongings. Maybe made in the 1930's or 1940's.
They lived in on Rural Route one Medina.
I don't know how she connects to us.
My grandfather's sister Nora Barrett McCollum married a Thomas G.(Garfield) Sellers. Her death certificate states that her husband T. G. Sellers lived in Jackson, TN. Her death is recorded on her certificate as 05 Dec. 1917 though her tombstone reads 1916.
I wondered if this could be his relative & maybe someone wrote a Zellars for a Sellers/Sellars.
Hope someone if failiar with the name & can help me.
Thank you,
Jane
