Have traced my GGGG Grandfather John HAWKINS back to 1700's in Darlington Co.
All later HAWKINS ancestor's also from this area. My father was born in Darlington
Co. Also need BYRD- CHAPMAN-SELLERS-GODBOLD info. These were all maiden
names of HAWKINS wifes Thank you.

Researching my Hawkins family from Darlington County. John Hawkins married to
Lydia Sellers, Daniel Hawkins married to Martha Byrd, William James Hawkins
married to Ella J. Chapman. Other surnames by marriage are Howle, McInvaille,
Prestwood, Jumper and m ny others. My Hawkins line came to the Cheraw District,
SC in the mid 1700's from Virginia.

Will of John Hawkins
I John Hawkins, of the state of South Carolina Darlington District, being weak
in body but of sound and disposing mind, do make and establish this my last
will and testament. Into the hands of God, my Savier, upon whom I have long
hoped, I commit my body and spirit, in confident hope of everlasting salvation.
It is my wish, that all my debts should be paid as soon as convenient. It is
further my wish, that all my worldly substances after the payment of these
debts remain together under the management of my beloved wife Lydia Hawkins,
to be used by the family as in my life-time, till the death or marriage of my
wife. At the death I wish my property to be equally divided amongst my
children.
I constitute and appoint my beloved wife Lydia Hawkins the executor of this
my
last will and testament.
