Berkly Cemetery Located on the old Sellers farm, this cemetery is one of two on the farm behind Hopewell Baptist Church, Chesterfield Co., SC. These people had no children. Mr. Berkly was, according to the Chesterfield census, born in Georgia, and his wife is believed to be the daughter of either Hardy Sellers, Sr. or Isaac Rives, Jr. Copied by Ruby G. Allman (reprinted with permission).

A Sellers Cemetery This cemetery is located in the same vicinity as Berkly cemetery, Chesterfield Co., SC. A pulpwood company owns the land at present and has planted pines, which hide the graves. Old-timers tell how at one time there were many wooden markers here with names on them. The owner of the land once set fire to a field that got out of control, and burned the markers. At present only these few remain. Copied by Ruby G. Allman and Marie G. Wiggins (reprinted with permission).

There are 10 John Sellers
plus 9 other Sellers with first inital J. listed in James Pigg's Index of
Chesterfield County Cemetery Survey. I found 12 Mary Sellers, but no Cela
Sellers, but C. Spencer Sellers and C. Vena Sellers.
If you can give me middle intial
I can quickly do a look up for John and Mary. Otherwise will need dates and
time enough to look thru all the cemeteries. Please let me know if this will
help you.

I went down to SC yesterday and took some pictures of the gravestones at the Sellers cemetery across from Thompson’s Creek Baptist. I also took some pictures from the new graveyard beside of the church. They are digital and I would be glad to send them to you or post them somewhere.

Hello Jim,
I found the pictures you posted at http://www.sellers-sellars-sollars-zellars.net/scchfdcm.htm
I have seen some of the graves, but some I have not, and I really appreciate your posting them. I wanted to give you a little more information on the small cemetery you found beside Thompson's Creek. We call that cemetery the Moore Cemetery in my family. Robert Moore was my gg grandfather. I'll copy/paste what I know about it here....
"Oct. 4, 2002 - Trip to the old Moore Cemetery
There is a small Moore Cemetery located on the original land belonging to Robert A. Moore This family cemetery has 5 Moore graves. It is located on Wexford Road in the Wexford Community of Chesterfield County, South Carolina. The graves are near the banks of Thompson creek and can be seen from the road. The Anson County line is only about 2 miles away. Robert A. Moore came from Anson County to Chesterfield County & bought property on Thompson Creek. It is said that he built his house across the creek from this family cemetery. Robert A. and his wife Martha Elizabeth Sellers are buried there. Robert has a Civil War marker also. Their daughter Sarah Catherine Moore Shaw, [she married Murdock Shaw] is buried there. Their daughter-in-law Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Moore, first wife of their son Robert "General" Moore, as well as three of General and Lizzie's infant children are also buried there."
Robert Lee "General" Moore's 3 infants

These are located at an African-American church, so I would expect the graves to be African-American.
Davidson Grove Baptist which is an African-American Church. There are only 3 graves beside of the creek.
Picture of Church/Cemetery sign = Davidson Grove?
These are from a large cemetery in Cheraw. My Aunt and Uncle (Barbara Cadd Sellers and Johnnie Pierce Sellers, Jr.) are buried here.
