Subject:  McAuley/McCauley Canada to Ohio

I am searching for information about my ggg-grandfather David
According to a 1870 US census, he was born in Canada in 1830. His son's
death certificate says that he was born on PEI, Canada. David was married
to Sarah E. Sellars (dau. of William and Elizabeth Sellers -- William was
from Kingston, ON) who was born about 1835. David and Sarah had 10
some of which may have been born before they came to the US: John A.,
Henry, George, David M., Elizabeth, Nell, Sadie, Jane, and Minnie. The
family moved to Lucas Co., Toledo, Ohio where we believe that David died.
Sarah E. died in Cleveland, Ohio in the early 1900's.

Of the ten children we know:

John A. married Anna Conlisk. Children: Milo J., Marion J., John A., Jr.,
Sarah, Anna. **We believe that Anna Conlisk was born in Monroe, MI. Milo
served in the Ohio National Guard and worked on the railroad as well as
working for his father's tent and awning factory.

Jane married a Farr.

Sadie married a Saeltzer.

Other clues about this family in Lucas Co. are that David and his sons
were sailmakers that worked for McCauley and Sellers as well as Wilcox
Brothers Cordage between 1870 and 1880 in Toledo. We also have reason to
believe that David has something to do with the Clinton Hotel in Toledo.

We would like to find information on the McCauley family as well as find
decendants of David and Sarah Sellars McCauley.

Thank you,
Sarah Jon
