I am searching for information pertaining to the Sollars family.
In
particular I am researching Joseph Sollars b 1810 England
and
his spouse
Caroline Lander b 1822 England as well. My family is Sollars
but
supposedly married a Rosehannah Sellers born 1850? England. She
married
on
of my greats, a Thomas Sollars b May 1840 England.
Any leads at all would be greatly appreciated
Thanks for your time..

This is what little I know.
My paternal grandfather married MABEL VIRGINIA SOLLARS (born
1908 Rising
Sun, MD.) Her parents were JOHN S. SOLLARS (born Sept 6, 1875
or 76
Rising
Sun MD)and ELIZABETH BELLE BURKINS SOLLARS
It would seem he came
to the USA with his brother
THOMAS WALTER SOLLARS (born Feb 25, 1874 or 75? , ? Co.England)
his father and mother
THOMAS SOLLARS (born May 1840?, England) and ROSEHANNAH SELLERS
SOLLARS
(born 1850? England)
There is a 3rd brother:
KING CHARLES SOLLARS (born 1869 England) who did not come as far
as I can
tell. he does not show up on the census in the same county as the
rest of
the family.
Also traveling at the same time: parents of Thomas Sr.
JOSEPH SOLLORS(born July 1810, England) Ag Lab.
CAROLINE LANDERS SOLLORS (born June 1822, England)
and their other son:
GEORGE W. SOLLORS (born Feb 12, 1862) I have the short copy of his
birth
registration. Upton St. Leonards, recorded District of Gloucester,
South
Hamlet.
In checking 1870 census
in Cecil County MD they are not there,
but show up
on the 1880 census and the following census until 1900, when they
all
disappear except the two young brothers, (john S and Thomas Walter
)who
moved to Charles County, MD, my birthplace.
(they all give the census taker the same year of immigration
as 1875 or
1876, but where or how I do not know, I can't find them on any passenger
list for Ellis, which is supposedly where they came from. There
is a
story
they went to Scotland first.
I am new at this and
am not sure which direction to go. I have
requested
the birth registration of King Charles (including ONS information)
three
times but have yet to receive a reply.

=====
I noticed I mentioned that Charles didn't come over, but on second
glance
I
believe he did. He is on the 1880 census living with parents Thomas.
Also,
there is some question over whether John S. was born in MD, on the
ship
over or right before they left England. Anyway, thank you
again for your
interest and support in this endeavor.
