RAY, I haven't thanked you directly for all the documents you have shared with us. It is much appreciated. This part of family couldn't have been proven without this info you shared.

I am marie sellers hollinger, with the SELLERS discussion group and web pages.

Our Georgia Fletcher is the one that shared the census, etc with you on this family back to TN.

Now, I'm not done posting/filing all your info yet, but, I see some info we need and perhaps you could get it for us, as I believe you said you still live there? If not, advise.

Illinois has an 1855 state census which should list our Sanford Sellers. it may not list his wife or kids names , but should show them and their ages.

I would like to have a copy of this. Have not been able to prove his wife, when married, or what happened to her and kids after he died. So, can't find her on an 1860 census. Did Not see them in Illinois deaths either. She may have returned to her family?

I usually try the local Genealogy society, maybe at library, they are great on these records. Phone ahead for hours etc.

If you have ANY info on his family, we need, to follow up on his kids, esp males.

There was a will of Nancy Sellers 1880, do you have a copy of this? might tell where any living kids or heirs are. Get Probate pages also, very important. I have numbers, if you don't already have. =

Copies may be obtained by applying to the Circuit Court Clerk, Morgan County Courthouse, Jacksonville IL 62650. A few years ago the cost was $3.00. One can also request the Petition for Letters of Administration for $1.00.
The petition usually lists surviving heirs and date of death. When requesting copies, please give Book A, Executors Bond Book, Name of Decedent, Executors and File number as listed.

Genealogy society may not have this. Clerk of Court may have? phone ahead for correct office.

I have several other items in the Bible, which include items that were made but little things and not sure if at the point you would be interested in them or not.   I do have a valentine made in the Bilbe with hair breaded around the heart.

I have in hand two letters written about williamson Sellers,from CSA. would you like copys of both, I know you have one copy, just not sure which one. They say the same thing but they were required to make to copys of each.

I am trying to fill the whole in my family tree, Zeffe, or Zeiffe, was my great grandma, and I have found census, of her living with Nancy SELLERS, I believe this is her mother, but lost after that. Not sure if she remarried, where she is buried or what. If you have any listing about her, or anything else, about husband/s thats where I am. Georgia believed she was married to a Melvin Sellers for a little while but no listing in the census, anyway thanks very much, for all your hard work, and nice meeting you.

Georgia ask that I look for Sellers living in the Morgan county area, I work in the local school and when school lets out this summer, which is in two weeks, I will have more time to conduct the search.   Any other way I can help, please let me know.

I show Nancy died May 1904, Morgan Co., Il? was that in bible? don't see in Il deaths.  I didn't find her husband Wm Stines/Stynes death. Your bible states Melvin as father. Haven't proven if same as Florida/Ms SELLERS, That one was born in NC, so doesn't sound too hopeful. Melvin could be a middle name , then hard to prove! Didn't see in TX civil war or TX deaths or IL deaths.

MURPHY. Died 27-05-1983. Dated 6/7/83: The funeral of Vera M. Murphy, 87, of Alton was held Wednesday morning at Smith Funeral Home in Alton with the Rev. Fred Beck officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery here. Her death occurred at 1:15 pm May 27 at Blu Fountain Manor, Godfrey. She was born in Lynnville, daughter of the late John W. and Zeffie Sellers Tendick. She is survived by two Sisters, Helen Nelder of Godfrey and Mildred Hawkins of Alton. Her husband warren a Murphy, died January 29, 1978. The American Cancer society and heart fund have been named as memorials.
