There is in the family a baptism certificate for John Paul Sellers

to Bucks
county to visit and had John Baptized.

John jr Born 1873
Mary born 1880
I do not know where these people lived. According to family stories,
Kathryn was the first woman in Ohio to get a divorce which the woman
gave
alimony. She was the first woman to be appointed as a US judge.
She was
appointed by Woodrow Wilson. She also was the only woman to be an
offical
delegate to the Armistice negotiations after the first world war
My father (Fred Sellers Sr born 1903) states that the family received
a land
grant from Lord Baltimore for 5000 acres. He says that "French
Sellers"
e.g. Charles French Sellers took the land grant document from the
family
home in Marysville. ( I could not understand if this was a gift
or what).
Charles French Sellers worked for the Bureau of Documents in Washington
DC.
If anyone knows about the Land Grant or whether Charles French Sellers
decendents have the land grant, I would be interested to know .
I will send a note about Marysville Ohio (Union County
George Lewis
Sellers) soon

Fred Sellers: I enjoyed
your information on the Paul Sellers, 1734,
descendants. My name is Edward L. McMillen
of Ed's Page Carroll Co.,
Md.
My mother's maiden name is Sellers and my new email address
is
oldeoak@cvn.com
I am not 100% sure, but I believe I know all of the names of
Paul &
Elisabeth Hofmen Seller's children, the "7 boys and
3 girls" mentioned on
Elizabeth Hofmen's headstone #GA2-53.
The names were found in the Will of Philip Sellers who died 1837
in
Carroll Co., Md. The will of Philip Sellers was the
first order of business in
the newly formed County of Carroll, Md. Philip's estate
was divided equally
between his 3 sisters & 6 brothers. Philip Seller's Will
does not mention
his parents.
I believe these are the Children of Paul & Elizabeth Sellers:
Philip died 1837
Henry
Jacob # A07-01 Manchester
Cem
John #A07-05
Manchester Cem
Peter Manchester
cem
George
Abraham
Elizabeth married Peter Ulrich
Polly married George Wareham
Cathrine single, divorced or widowed in 1837
I believe I descend through Jacob Sellers son of Paul
& Elizabeth. And I
believe that your John Sr. is my Jacob's brother.
The Will of my Jacob Sellers buried in Manchester Cem. lot
#A07-01 gives
the names of his wife as Barbara (unknown) most likely buried
in lot #A07-02.
On Fred's Page, Bucks Co., PA, I believe you might have listed
this
Barbara Sellers as her husband's sister?
Children of Jacob & Barbara Sellers:
Sarah
married Joseph Matthias
Rachel married Joshua
Richards
Catherine married David Deal
Jacob (my grt grt grandfather I believe)
My grt grt grt grandfather was Jacob B. Sellers b 3/15/1805
d 2/10/1881.
Jacob B Sellers and his wife Elizabeth (unknown) are buried
in the
Manchester Cemetery Lots A18- 27 & 28. Jacob B.
Sellers was a blacksmith
in Carroll Co, Md. According to the book TWO CENTURIES
OF GRACE AN GROWTH
IN MANCHESTER, 1760-1969, by Harvey G. Schlicter, page 246;
Jacob B.
Sellers opened his shop in 1847 at 111 N. Main St. in Manchester.
His son E.G.
later took over the business.
Children of Jacob B. and Elizabeth:
William Lewis
Barbara Elizabeth Sarah
Edward G.
Jacob Peter (my grt grt grandfather)
Mary R.
Jacob P., my grt grt grandfather b 7/20/1840 d 9/3/1912 was
also a
blacksmith. He married Rachel Ann Boring 1/27/1866 in
Manchester, Md.
Jacob P. Sellers & Rachel Anne Boring are buried in the
Powell Cemetery,
Powell, Liberty Township, Delaware County, Ohio
Children:
Robert Rusk Manchest Bethel Cem #04-03
Edward Lee Manchest Bethel Cem #04-03
Leroy Boring b1/3/1874 d 1/20/1937
Leila b 1878
All of the children of Jacob P. Sellers & Rachel
Boring were born in
Manchester, Md. Then before 1880 census they moved to Marysville,
Union
Co., > Ohio. I see now that most likely it was his cousin
George L. Sellers that
persuaded them.
Leroy [Roy] Boring Sellers their son was also a blacksmith.
My grt
grandfather Roy Sellers set up his shop in Powell, Delaware
Co., Ohio.
Just east of Marysville. Roy married May Jane Chambers.
Her family was Janes
/Chambers from Vermont. His parents came to live with
them in their old
age. Leroy Boring Sellers is buried in the Powell Cemetery,
Liberty
Township, Delaware County, Ohio. Most of his descendants
live in and
around Columbus, Ohio.
How can I get a hold of your resource Roger Sellers?
I am sure he would
be interested in my information.
I do hope this information will be posted on the SELLERS family/Carroll Co., Md site.
Thanks
Elm
