Hi Marie,  my name is Patrick Wood and I'm descended from Elizabeth Sellers married Levy Jackson in
1780 in Wilkes Co. N.C.  I think her brother was a John Sellers. I was told that you were the expert on
Sellers in N.C.  If so maybe you know who John and Elizabeth's parents were. Could it have been Robert
Sellers Sr.? Please let me know, thanx.

PATRICK, Thanks - We have members working on this family.
Will send thro our SELLERS DISCUSSION group
and IF you will send us the child you connect to, who married and went where will  help us ALL  prove this family. marie, iowa

FROM SHERRI SHERRI'S PAGE

per PATRICK WOOD

Clara Toni Sellers, daughter of Thomas Jefferson
Sellers and Mary Margaret "Maggie" Strunk, sister of Thomas Jefferson, Jr,.
Pulaski/McCreary County, KY area.  Clara Sellers is Patrick's grandmother.

Somerset Lumber & Coal Company, of the 1941 timekeepers.  Thomas
Jefferson Sellers, Jr. is the man on the left.  We don't know who the baby
or the other man are.  Thomas Jefferson Sellers, Jr. is the son of Thomas
Jefferson Sellers and Mary Margaret "Maggie" Strunk, brother of Clara Toni,
William McKinley and Ava Western Sellers.  He married Mable Trainham.

Thanks Marie for getting back to me. Elizabeth Sellers and Levy Jackson had
a son whose name was John but because his prospective father-in-law William
Roberts didn't want his daughter Sarah marrying a Jackson, he changed his
name to his mother's maiden name, Sellers. So they were married.and one of
their sons was Bailey Sellers who married Lucy Ann Carrigan.  Their son
Thomas Jefferson Sellers married Mary Margaret (Maggie) Strunk.  Their
daughter Clara Tony Sellers was my grandmother.  Most of this took place in
Kentucky, except for Elizabeth and Levy.  I have found out since that
Elizabeth's brother may have been the John on her marriage bond. And
another
source told me that her father may have been Robert Sellers Sr. of  Burke
Co. N.C.  This would mean that she had another brother Robert Jr. if this
is
true. Robert Sr. also had another son Isaac who married William
Huddleston's
daughter Elizabeth which of course meant that their would be another
Elizabeth Sellers at the same time. This could be confusing. A lot of this
information apparently comes out of Rutherford Co., N.C.  The same document
also tells of Elizabeth Sellers marrying Levy Jackson and this would be
before Isaac was dead so it couldn't have been his wife but probably his
sister but I can't find anything to prove that.  Can you help me straighten
this out?  Thanks, Patrick.

That's all I have on Bailey's family. I came down thru Thomas Jefferson
Sellers and I have more info on that line. There is a Sellers book that
I've
seen that has everything in it.

PATRICK - Thanks -  Study some of the documents we have collected   - This
link starts in BURKE CO, NC=
http://www.netins.net/showcase/sellerfamily/ncburke.htm

AND will connect you to Rutherford Co,NC

We have NO info on Wilkes Co, NC except the marriage Aug 24,1780 of Levy
JACKSON adn Elizabeth SELLARS, surety John SELLERS.
I would think Father first instead of brother, But, I don't remember any
other info we have on this.
There possibly is some ROBERTS or JACKSON info in Wilkes Co, NC someone
should extract and send.
Its also possible our some of our SELLERS land of Burke Co was in the Area
that became Rutherford?

PLEASE, help with any Documents, etc you have or can find to share with us.
AND a little chart on BAILEY would be nice = names/ages/places of kids SO
we can
See them on the Census and Others can connect to them (esp newer members)

I DON'T believe the KY pages are linked to NC?
AND I believe we need more links between the KY pages - When members send
info connected families, we usually link them. And sometimes, it just doesn't
get done!
Wayne Co, KY =  http://www.netins.net/showcase/sellerfamily/kywayne.htm
PERHAPS you can ADD to our census, deeds, ANY documents on these families

WILL ADD Your info and link to the counties you connect to sap.

THANKS, marie, iowa

RE:  Bailey Sellers b. 4/7/1821

I've often wondered how he got his name, Bailey.  Then I found out that
Sarah and Elisha Roberts had a brother, Bailey.  Then I found out that
their father, William Roberts, had the middle name of Bailey.  Since
William Bailey Roberts is one of our  "dead ends" I think it would behoove
us to locate the Roberts/Bailey connection.  Bailey could have been
William's mother's maiden name or his father's mother's maiden name.
Something like that. Does anyone have any ideas about this?  I've also
directed this to the Roberts group.=
I'm descended from William Bailey Roberts and Lydia Ponder and many of you
are also. They had a son Bailey Roberts and their daughter Sarah, who
married John (Jackson) Sellers, had a son Bailey Sellers. This name Bailey
has to be a family name and I'm wondering if  William Roberts mother could
have been a Bailey. I need help on this one. I've located a couple of
Roberts and Bailey marriages but nothing I can verify as ours.

Dear Group:

I think this is an important part of our history and perhaps our Sellers
genealogy that
might be overlooked.  Margaret MOUNCE, daughter of John Mounce, wife of
Elisha ROBERTS , was first married to Tuckahoe Doublehead. Margaret and Tuckahoe
had two children. Tuckahoe was murdered. What happened to the two children? Check
out this interesting sight:

http://victorian.fortunecity.com/rothko/420/aniyuntikwalaski/tuckahoe.txt

and read this document. Or, you can just type in Tuckahoe Doublehead for a
search. I
also found out that John Mounce was one of the original settlers of
Boonesboro. It says
that he brought his family with him to Boonesboro. If we could find out
what group they
came with perhaps we could find out where he was from originally.

From:
             "Sherri Hall" <ldrbelties@earthlink.net>

ELISHA ROBERTS that married MARGARET MOUNCE.
They were the parents of Rachel Roberts, who married Alexander
Elias Strunk.  Rachel Roberts and Alexander Elias Strunk were the parents
of
Mary Margaret "Maggie"Strunk, who married Thomas Jefferson Sellers.  This
is
all outlined on "Sherri's Page",
http://showcase.netins.net/web/sellerfamily/sherrihall.htm.  I didn't see
the relationship defined on Patrick's page, but
it is the same.  His grandmother, Clara Toni Sellers was sister to my
grandmother, Ava Western Sellers.

Dear Group:

I found this abstract of a deed on the internet. Someone's probably seen it before
but I have a question about it. It's from N.C.

abstract of a deed - not the original -no indication of where original is except -
Land Grant Office Book 76 p 242 - Deed - THOMAS MOORE and wife, ELIZABETH of Dobbs
to WILLIAM BLOUNT of the same place - SS Great Contentney Creek - granted on March
1, 1743 unto JOHN SELLERS, father of said ELIZABETH MOORE - also land granted Nov
11, 1743 unto JOHN SELLES (Sellers) brother of said ELIZABETH - WIT BENJAMIN
SHEPPARD, ABRAHAM SHEPPARD, JR., JAMES HINES - to Court Dobbs County 1774 - Enrolled
Office of the Register of deeds 22 Aug 1774.

I'm wondering if the brother, John Sellers, is the John Sellers on Levy Jackson and
Elizabeth Sellers marriage bond. That would make Elizabeth Sellers Jackson the niece
of Elizabeth Sellers Moore. Is this something that could be looked into further by
the group? I think the senior John Sellers is from Penn.

Patrick
