I believe Wilmoth Cellars listed in Robertson Co. Tn. 1850 census (in Farthing household) is my g.grandmother. Do not know anything about her family or how she came to live with this family before she married James C. Sharick (Sherick?) in Robertson Co.(about 1852?). (I've noticed other Farthings connected to Sellers family). They are later listed in 1860 Saline Co., Ill. census...& in Izard Co.Ark. after war. Am searching for any family info. Have found the Sharick last name spelled many ways...but dates are correct. I have some family info. to share.
Thanks for letting me share this...hope it will lead to other relatives. Pansy Shairrick Hammonds (Tx.)

Don't know if this helps or not, but Wilmoth may have been the daughter of "Larkin" or "Lankin" Cellars listed on the 1850 Robertson County, TN, Census as well. The household is listed on Page 60B as follows:

1850 Robertson County, TN
District No. 8
Dwelling #1112/Family #1112
Larkin/Lankin Cellars, age 59, Farmer, $500, Born SC
Demaria, 57, F, Born NC
Willis, 30, Male, Farmer, Born TN
Jesse, 29, Male, Farmer, Born TN
Martha, 26, Female, Born TN
Mary, 22, Female, Born TN
John, 20, Male, Farmer, Born TN
Narcissy, 18, Female, Born TN
David, 14, Male, Born TN

I'm not connected to the family, so I'm not sure if there is a connection to this Cellars family and to Wilmoth or not. But, maybe it's a place to start...?

Don't know if g.grandmother Wilmoth is related to Larkin Sellers. First
info. found for her is 1850 Robertson Co. Tn. census (in District 4 with
"Farthing" family). (Also Amanda living nearby household District 4 with
"Garrett" family. May have been sisters???) In 1850 census...Larkin lived in
District 8 with wife & children.
Wilmoth Married 1852 (recorded Robertson Co.Tn). Have copy of marriage
record showing ? Chapman put money for their marriage bond. Don't understand
that practice? don't know if any he was relation? She moved to Ill. before
1860...then to Ark. after the war.
I'm trying to find out who her parents/family were.
I'm new at this...so will look more. Any suggestions?

PANSY, could you send us the census extractions on Wilmoth?

Larkin and Howell Sr SELLERS don't seem to have a daughter by this name, re their wills. However, in 1820 we have two Howell Sellers. In 1830 we have a Sarah Sellers with two daus u 10, which possibly could be Amanda and Wilmoth. We don't have a will or anything further on this Sarah. A Howell Sellers did have a wife Sarah , I believe in 1800. Don't know if Same. As Howell Sellers with wife Margaret who died 1844 didn't have living son Howell. Many unanswered questions. Maye some of our members have ideas or more documents.

Please send what you can and thanks for sharing. marie, iowa

Marie:
Only know of 3 children born to Wilmoth. My connection to Hansberry
Sharrick/Shairrick...my grandfather. Moved his family early 1900's from
Izard. Co. Ark. to NE Ark. area for several years...eventually to Titus Co.,

Tx. He is buried Hickory Hill Cemetery, Titus Co.TX.(on-line). Mary Evaline married Green Hill in Izard Co. Ark. She is buried Antioch
Cemetery, Izard Co. Ark(on-line).
James Thomas is Wilmoth's youngest child...lived/buried in the Malvern, Ark.

area (cemetery?)
Other than census records...only documentation I have on Wilmoth & James is
copy of marriage license and James' CW discharge. (Do you want any of
these?) James T granddaughter has documentation re: Wilmoth receiveing widow

pension...I do not have. Courthouse in Izard Co. burned early years...so
haven't found much there.

PANSY, thanks for sharing.

I doubt if any death info on Wilmoth in Izard Co., AR? Is that where she died?

I see No connection to the Chapman, Garrell, Garrett, Farhling families, altho they were living with them for some reason.

There was a Farthing chart on Solomon Farthing 1777 VA that came thro TN (dau born 1809 TN) and died 1861 Perry Co., Il ( I don't have his census) Whose dau Milly married a Charles Sellers (No chart on him) AND don't know if the Robertson Co., TN families. BUT, we do have a CHARLES SELLERS here in 1830 , but, he has no daughters .

We still have the Howell Sellers 1775/1794 here in 1820 next or close to Rev War Howell Sellers and in 1830 a Sarah Sellers with two dau's under 5.
Some of these went to IL also, But, doesn't seem Wilmoth went with our Sellers unless these counties are close, I didn't check. There may be more court/land records here in Robertson Co., Tn to check out.

Is family yours?

I believe it is Robertson Co., TN to study records which may be available, but, we don't have?

Thanks for sharing, marie, iowa

Yes...this is my family in 1900 & 1910 censuses...although names are
misspelled. My father was Joseph S. This would be Hansberry & Rachael
Shairrick (Wilmoth's oldest son & family.) They moved from Izard Co. Ark. to
Craighead Co. Ark....then to Texas.
I have been to Izard Co...but the courthouse burned in the early
years...can't find death certificate for Wilmoth or James. Family lore goes
that James left the family & went to Indian territory in Ok...never seen
again...however, I have copy of sworn affadavit that Wilmoth provided for
Civil War widow's pension...stating that James died in Izard Co.???? forgot
the year...1870's I think. Wilmoth died 1885 in Izard Co. Ark. before
Hansberry's family moved to Craighead Co. Some family are buried there...but
have not been able to locate her grave with any certainty.
One thing that is somewhat puzzling....I think there was a Sellers from
Bradley Co. Tn....& that is where James C. listed his nativity on Civil War
papers....but states he was born in Hamiltin Co....adjacent to Bradley Co.

This might be a shot in the dark...but do you think there's a chance that
Wilmoth & James families knew each other before Robertson Co.? I can't find
anything on either of them in Bradley Co.
Do you think my best bet for finding more might be in Robertson Co.?
Without more names...dates...it's like a needle in haystack.
At present I'm limited to time spent in research....hopefully next year will
have more time. I'm 65...nearly retired. My dad didn't start a family until
he was past 40...so most of my family is either old...old...or
deceased...and a lot of family history went with them. Any info. I find is
so precious.
Thanks so much for you help...Pansy

Would like copies of these CW file papers. I didn't know widows could claim CW before 1885. Or James must have filed first papers to get pension and stated where born , etc?? I see NO pension filed on his service?? Texas pensions are a little diff?? HELP me here.

COURT HOUSES burn, but not ALL records are in the courthouse = some state records and some kept other places. And some Federal records, like WARs are other places.

YES, Robertson County court minutes, etc may have info, I have some and just pulled them out last nite, but, in my earlier extractions, I do Not see this family. And my film reader I put away, upstairs last year as so much on the net now! YES, we had two Howell Sellers, perhaps not following the family correctly? We have members that have worked on this family and sure would appreciate some info on this 1830? Census.

You bet it's a needle in haystack = Need more documents, Some are there, some not, Some nextdoor in a county or where they came from or went. I /We need to know who our SELLERS were HERE in ROBERTSON CO, TN for sure.

Were Sharricks here in Robertson Co before 1850?? Send info

I think that pension was filed under his middle name....Calaway...or
Caloway? I believe Wilmoth filed for pension in Izard Co.1885...only a short
period of time before her death same year. Don't have my copy at hand at the
moment. Can get back to you with that.
This is correct family....correct military info. CW enlistment shows
James...I think discharge is Calaway.
