A while back I ordered and received the War of 1812 Pension File (Widow's
Pension) for GEORGE SELLERS of Greene Co. PA. [even though he is NOT in my direct line]. I don't know if this information is already been added to the
SELLERS website or not. I thought I'd share it with the list anyway. The
GEORGE SELLERS enrolled at Greene Co. PA, in
Capt. Smith's PA Militia,
serving from November 10, 1814 until December 4, 1814.
He married PHEBE CROUSE on April 6, 1822 at Ten Mile Creek, Greene
George & Phebe were living in Ohio by 1848. Included in the
file is a tax
receipt for the year 1848 for Geo. Sellers of the State of Ohio, Washington
Co. (now Monroe Co.) Jolly Twp.
George died at Monroe Co. Ohio on February 6, 1856.
Phebe was 78 years old in 1879 when she filed a Widow's Pension
Claim No. 36716. Certificate No. 26012. She signed by her mark.
PHEBE (CROUSE) SELLERS died March 27, 1885.
I hope this is helpful.
