I do not have a connection to the SELLERS family, but am looking for Lowell,
wife Jean and son "Butch", who I assume was Lowell, Jr.
Lowell was in the Sea Bee Branch of US Navy in 1955, Jean and son lived next
door in Long Beach, CA.
I would like to find her, or relatives, or "Butch". He was about 12 in 1955.
Nothing on the net  for Tulsa, OK, where they were from, and returned to.
Thought if I could search the Sellers site, I might find someone in OK that
I could contact about this wonderful, loving family.

History of the Cherokee Indians by Emmet Starr, pub Okla City, Okla, 1921; reprinted fy Genealogical Pub. Co., Inc Baltimore. MD, 2003,2004,2006 [has seal of the Cherokee Nation GWYADAJ? Sept.6. 1839]

[Emmet has an index of sorts. I've just been reading/scanning and found this accidently.]

pg. 570-571: "LIPE, CLARKE CHARLESWORTH, (see Thornton, Oolootsa and Thompson)---Clark Charlesworth Lipe was born November 15, 1887, married at Tulsa July 19, 1914 LUCY V. [Verda?] daughter of JOHN AND SARAH SELLERS born November 22, 1888 near Stilwell, Cherokee Nation. They are the parents of Clarke Charlesworth Lipe [Jr.] born January 4, 1916. Mr. Lipe's Cherokee name is, Oolasant. Mrs. Lipe is a member of the Baptist church.

John Gunter married Catherine a full blood Cherokee of the Paint clan and they settled on the Tennessee River in north Alabama, where he made powder and operated a ferry. Their daughter Catherine married as her second husband Oliver Wack Lipe born January 20,1814 at Fort Plains, New York. He was a merchant at Fort Gibson and the first mayor of that town. He had five children of whom Clarke Charlesworth was the youngest. One of Clarke Charlesworth older brothers was John Gunter Lipe, born January 1, 1844. Though ordinarily happy he wrote the following in the autograph album of Miss Victoria Susan Hicks on January 27, 1861:........'. He was killed in a skirmish on Bayou Monard on July 27, 1862."

[Will see what else I can find ASAP. There were two Hicks families that white Hicks were kept in AL and native Hicks lived in Miss. though Mr. Hicks listed all as white as "whites had more rights than natives." This part is from Choctaw book."]
