I don't know if the following will help concerning the information that is being sought about Margaret Zellers, wife of Isaac Harshman, however, it may give us and Ruth a good place to start. I'm curious about this one myself as I do not know how these ZELLERS fit into the overall grand scheme of things.

It appears that Margaret (Zellers) Harshman was the daughter of a Henry Zellers (Sellers?). I had located the following record some years ago, but I still don't know who they are. Henry Zellers (Jr. ?) died intestate in Preble County, Ohio, in 1820. A petition was filed for partitioning his land, and the record thankfully listed his children:

"September 1829: Peter Harshman vs. Richard Zellers and others: Petition for Partition. Filed May 25, 1829, in Preble County, Ohio. Land, NW 1/4 Section 21, Township 8, Range 2, 160 acres. Henry Zellers, dec'd, died intestate in 1820. Children: EPHRAIN Z, dec'd, [Ephrain's] children -- John, Mary, Isaac, Henry and Ephrain Z., all minors; WILLIAM Z, dec'd, [William Z's] children--Sally Reubin, and Lucinda Z; RICHARD Z, ISAAC Z; CATHARINE Z, dec'd; POLLY formerly Z, dec'd, wife of Jacob Beard, her children--Lucinda, wife of Abraham HARSHMAN, Matilda, James, Mary, and Jane Beard; CHRISTINA formerly Z, dec'd wife of Peter HARSHMAN, her children--Joseph, Peter, John, Barbara, Christina and Moses Harshman; SALLY formerly Z wife of Jacob Webber; ELIZABETH formerly Z wife of George Coppick; PEGGY formerly Z wife of *ISAAC HARSHMAN*" The petition was eventually approved.

None of the above tells anything as to where Margaret "Peggy" Zellers and her husband, Isaac Harshman, ended up. However, it does clearly state who her father was as well as the identity of her siblings. Unfortunately, I do not know where these Zellers fit, or if they fit, into the Zellers/Sellers. I first thought that perhaps they somehow fit into those Zeller/Sellers that descended from Heinrich Zeller that eventually migrated from Rockingham County, VA, to Warren County, OH. I first thought this due to the mention in the above court action of Henry Zellers daughter, "Christina formerly Z, dec'd wife of Peter Harshman". Warren County, Ohio, marriage records shows that "Christina Sellers" married "Peter Hashman" on March 26, 1807. There's little doubt that "Hashman" was instead "Harshman". Further proof that it was indeed Harshman is that Peter Harshman's brother, Elijah Harshman, married Nancy Alexander, and Elijah and Nancy's 1812 marriage record is also found in Warren County, Ohio. Christina (Zellers) Harshman died in 1827 in Preble County, OH, of Typhoid Fever. Peter Harshman then remarried to Mary Glines.

With so many of the Rockingham County, VA, Sellers having migrated to Warren County, OH, it would seem that Christina Zellers and hence her sister, Margaret "Peggy" (Zellers) Harshman, would be a good fit to be from those lines. However, I have yet to find in Warren County, OH, a connection between the Henry Zellers family mentioned above and the Zeller/Sellers that went there from Rockingham County, VA.

In any case, Margaret Zellers, wife of Isaac Harshman, was definitely a daughter of Henry Zellers (Jr.?) and of the Zellers that had settled by 1820 in Preble County, OH. From whence they came, I just can't yet put my finger on it ...

Hope that is at least a little helpful and provides a starting point of some type to dig further.
