Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties KY
=======
Early settlers traveled down the Ohio River to the area that is now Hamilton
county by flatboat and in 1788 founded Losantiville, which was
later re-named Cincinnati.
Hamilton county, the second county carved out of the Northwest Territory,
was established in 1790, twelve years before Ohio attained her statehood.
The county was named for Alexander Hamilton who was
the First Secretary of the Treasury, 1789-1795. A small section of the
county is in the Virginia Military District.

HAMILTON COUNTY, OHIO DEED RECORDS, DEED BOOK B-1 (part 1)
It should be noted that at this early date, prior to 1803, Hamilton
County's boundaries included a large portion of southern Ohio. Many of
the mortgages to John Cleves Symmes were levied on at a suit of Gashem Gard
vs. John C. Symmes on October 19, 1803; however, some mortgages were
assigned to others. Terms followed by Symmes in disposing of his land were that
each purchaser was bound to begin improvements within two years, or forfeit
one-sixth of the land to whomever would settle thereon and remain seven
years.

12-26-1801 PETER SELLERS land = A166- Sec 1 Twn 3 Rn 4=
The list I checked shows Hamilton County is his residence. I believe that
S1-T3=R4 would put the land in Wayne Twp., Butler County,
OH. (Butler wasn't made till 1803,msh=see below)
Mike and Amber Sellers [mikeamber@cox.net] = The land in
then Hamilton County in Range 4, Township 3, Section 1 was located just
northeast of Lebanon in present-day Warren County, Ohio,
not Butler County.
Upon the creation of Warren County in 1803 the land fell within its borders.
I can definitely help with the first entry
listed that is dated 12-26-1801 for PETER SELLERS.
This is for PETER SELLERS, son of ADAM SELLERS of
Rockingham County,
Virginia. Peter was born 1771 near McGaheysville, Virginia, and died from
Yellow Fever near Lebanon, Ohio, on 15 August 1807.
Peter, son of Adam, was
one of the first Rockingham County Sellers to head for Ohio. The land in
then Hamilton County in Range 4, Township 3, Section 1 was located just
northeast of Lebanon in present-day Warren County, Ohio, not Butler County.
Upon the creation of Warren County in 1803 the land fell within its borders.
Peter, son of Adam Sellers, was also a grandson
of Heinrich Zeller
(1704-1773) of Rockingham County, Virginia.
Hope that helps. Let me know if there is anything more I can do.

One possibility for Hannah Sellers: there was Hannah Sellers who was a
Presbyterian communicant in Lebanon, OH on October 13, 1814. I don't have
any more information about her, however.
In the same age range, a Benjamin Sellers m. Rachel Hageman February 7,
1822, in Warren County, OH records. Benjamin Sellers is listed owning $200
worth
of personal property in the 1826 tax duplicate of Warren Co., OH.

PA" that the Benjamin, Hannah and Sally in the 1813 Common Pleas court
record were likely of PA origin. Benjamin Sellers, son of John and
Henrietta (Smith) Sellers died in Warren County, OH, in 1848. There are no
other Benjamin Sellers in the Heinrich Zeller lines of Virginia having been
born in the 1796-1798 timeframe that I'm aware of.
Sorry I couldn't help us reveal an identity on this one. Will keep trying,
though.
