     This is quote from the Las Cruces New Mexico Sun News dtd Aug 18 1998. "On
Friday,August 18, 1998, our Lord called his servant MARY D. SELLERS, from
labor to reward to his mighty kingdom. She was born in Luther, Okla., on
March 16,1922, to Eddo and Catherine Herrod. She attended scholl in Luther,
and then moved to Las Cruces,N.M. with her family in 1939. Mary received
the
Lord at St John Curch of God in Christ in a Revival hosted by the late
State
Mother Sylvia Jeffery.
Mary was a housewife and homemaker who raised five sons, four
grandaughters,numerous great-grand
children and was also a mother to a host of children in her community. Mary
never said "no" to anyone and was always there with a helping
hand."------"She leaves behind five sons;Joe Bob and Mary of Las Cruces,
Johnny "Hammer" and Ruth of El Centro,Calif.,Howard and Angie of
Spencer,Okla.,Lloyd "Lindsay" and Rubie of Mountainair,N.M., and Charles of
Las Cruces,two brothers Clarence and Cecile Herrod of San
Diego,Calif.,sister,Della Canada of San Diego,Calif."------"She was
preceded
in death by her parents, husband Joe Sellers, son WIllie Ray and sister
Betty L. Revels." The funeral was held today in the church mentioned in
quotes.

Roger in Las Cruces

A young lady working a White Sands Missile Range here in New Mexico has
asked to to See what can be found about her family. I have not followed NC
lines.
Her grandmother ,Ablegray Sellers married a Robert Furnish, is about 70,
and
lives in Fayetteville. Ablegray's parents were Barry and Pearlie Sellers
and
the lived in Laurenberg. Barry was the son of Benjamin and Rosa Sellers.
I searched some data on Marie's site and Brunswick and Johnston counties
both show Benjamin in 1870 census data.
Does someone out there have info I can pass to the young lady for this
family ?
I am only trying to work on PA to Ohio to ? line starting with J Leonard
in
Bucks Cnty PA.

Looking for information on Eliphalet Sellers, born 1829. Eliphalet is listed in 1910 Clayton, Union Co., NM census. His wife, Diana Templin Sellers is also listed in the 1910 and 1920 Clayton, Union Co., NM census.

I was looking though the www. Sellers information and found "Donald's Page". I believe I may have picked up a Land Patent for Donald's Sylvester Sellers when I got the ones for my Sellers in New Mexico. I still have the 'gif' image of the land patent. Would have sent it but I know those won't go through the mailing lists.

The date on it is 2 Nov., 1914. Patent number 439879. Homesteader is Sylvester Sellers. Gives land discription.

And it is in the same place that my Sellers got land patents, Fort Sumner, New Mexico. If I am reading this right, no promises on that, there were three hundred and twenty acres.

If Donald is still subscribed and researching, I would gladly send a copy of this record. E-mail address starts with Fullbird.

Last time I checked, BLM-GLO was still closed for searches.

Am now wondering if William H. could be Harvey W. , my father's brother. Will have to check NM census for a William Sellers in 1920 and 30 as he was not with the rest of the family in Okla. Fingers crossed.

Ronnie Whitten sent this obit below. Vivian was the wife of Wallace
Sellers, son of Albert Sellers and grandson of Joel Lewis Sellers and
Mary Ann Neel. Wallace R Sellers died 30 October 2002 in Silver City,
Grant, New Mexico

"SELLERS: Vivian Ruth Sellers, 85, of Silver City [/Grant county, New
Mexico/], went home to the Lord on Friday, Sept. 4,2009, at Fort Bayard
Medical Center with son Robert and granddaughter Beverly by her side.
There will be a visitation at Bright Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday,
Sept. 10, from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 11,
at 2 pm. at Bright Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Memory
Lane Cemetery. She was born in Grove,Texas, on April 12, 1925, to
Lillian Doss Jones and Walter Jones. She was raised in Texas and
attended school there, graduating from Jonesboro High School in 1943.

She met and married Wallace R. Sellers in 1946, and they moved to Silver
City in 1947. Here they started their life and family, raising three
sons, Robert, David and Joe Edward. Mrs. Sellers was an avid gardener
and always had a yard full of beautiful roses. She also loved taking
pictures of her family. She worked at Grant County Bank and was a
faithful member of First Baptist Church in Silver City. She was a
wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly
missed by all those who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Sellers is survived by two sons, Robert R. Sellers and Joe E.
Sellers, both of Silver City: two sisters, Bernice Carr of Dallas,
Texas, and Katherine Robinett of Midland, Texas; one brother, Bruce
Jones, and wife, Christine, of Tucson, Ariz.; and one daughter-in-law,
Shirlene Sellers of Grand Junction, Colo. She is also survived by seven
grandchildren, Thomas Fortenberry and Amber of Laurel, Mont., James and
Jennifer Fortenberry of Billings, MT, Beverly Lopez of Silver City,
Monica Sellers of Denver, CO, Wendy and Matthew Likes of Grand Junction,
Joe E. Sellers Jr. and CiCi of Colorado Springs, CO, and Shannan
Stufflebeam of Roswell. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren,
along with several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sellers was preceded in
death by her parents, Lillian and Walter Jones; her son, David Sellers;
brothers, Milton Jones and and W.L. Jones; and a sister, Magaret Watson."
