Abstract of the Will of James Corbett (father of Nancy Ann Corbett
the wife of Matthew SELLERS the son of William Sellers and Sarah
Hickman)

While in perfect health James Corbett made this will:
1st. Pay debts and funeral expence.
2nd. Gave 5 Shilling to daughter Nancy Corbett
3rd. Gave 5 Shiling to daughter Sarah Russ
4th. Gave 5 Shillings to daughter Elizabeth Drew.
5th. Gave 5 Shillings to daughter Faithy Corbett.
6th. Gave 5 Shillings to daughter Polly Comsal.
7th Gave 5 Shillings to daughter Wynn McKitten
8th Gave negro man, Harry and negro woman, Phillis to his wife
Polly Corbett also 100 acres of land where he lives with all
buildings. When she marries or dies this all to go to young children,
son Jehovah Corbett and daughter Sophia Corbett.
9th. Gave to wife Polly 1/4th of all stock, the furniture and
household.
10th. Gave everthing remaining to his two young children son
Jehovah Corbett and daughter Sophia Corbett.
11th. Appointed friends John Wingate and Jat B. White as
Executors of Will.

This Indenture made 15 Jul 1836 between Amelia SELLERS and
Michael SELLERS. Amelia sold to Michael for $75.00 a tract of
land 245 acres in size. on both sides of the Beaverdam Swamp and
Sweet Water Branch, south of Rackoon Dream John Fowler corner
to a oak near Joel Sellers corner, to link to J. Hinson. This land was
granted to John G. Blunt 26 Dec 1794. Signed by Amelia Sellers (X
her mark). Witnessed by Elisha Sellers and George W. Sellers.
This was proven by oath of G. W. Sellers in open court Nov 1853

The Witnesses were Elisha probably the son of Amelia and G. W.
Sellers the brother to Michael Sellers. Michael and G. W. are grand
sons of Amelia. The Joel Sellers mentioned in the land section was
probably Amelia's son also (brother to Elisha the witness).

The State of NC sold to Scoveland George William Jacinths SELLERS 50 acres of
land for $2.50 with mineral rights (subject to a tax). The land began at a gum in
Camp Swamp on the south side of Rum Run. The land touched Lyn Marlowe's line

This Indenture made 18 Sep 1847 between Amos SELLERS and
G. W. SELLERS. Amos sold to G. W. for $132.00 A parcel of land
on the south side of the Big pond and on both sides of the ole
marsh path including half of the improvement where Joel
SELLERS formerly lived where the said Amos SELLERS now lives
containing two hundred acres. Part 1 of land was granted to Daniel
Rabon in 1796. Part 2 at a pine in the fork of Sweet Water Branch.
Part 3 near land owned by Amos SELLERS and Daniel SELLERS
to Red Byrn's line then to R. L. Byrn's line then back to the line of
G. W. SELLERS. Signed by Amos SELLERS ( X his mark)
wittnessed by E. Sellers and G. W. SELLERS  (It is unreadable as
to when E. Sellers swore to this indenture at Recording time.)

1745, Elisha and Joel. G. W. (George Washington) is son of Elisha

This is a abstract of the Will of Bythel Rouse involving Nancy
Sellers and her daughter Betsey

Bythel Rouse ordered his debts be paid by selling his negro
property, then he gave to Betsy Sellers the daughter of Nancy
Sellers all his negros vis: Sarah, Sant, Mary, Travis, Ned, and
Emanda and their future increase also Tools and Chattle rights and
clauns? of every kind and every species of property that he may
own at his death.

       This is to certify that I Joel Sellers being of sound mind and
memory do give and bequeath unto my beloved Daughter Matilda
fore head of Cattle fore Sows and nine pigs (?) Seven hed of year
Oles, Also I ferther Give and bequeath unto my beloved Son Alvey
two hed of Oxen One Cow and two heffers and one bool, And all
the sheepe markt with an over squar (?) under bit in both Ears nine
Sows Sows and forty two pigs and Sixteen hed of year Oles,
        Also I ferther Give and bequeath unto my beloved Son Calvin
Ten hed of Cattle, one Sow and four pigs, And nine hed of year
Oles, and ten hed of Lambs.

SELLERS bought 200 acres on the South side of Alford Bay and
west side of Boone Swamp from the State of NC signed by David
S. Reide the Secretary of State. This track was next to land owned
by Michael M(arion) Sellers, Michael Sellers (their father) and G.
W. (George Washington) SELLERS (Their uncle-Michael's
brother). This transaction included mineral rights that could be
taxed by the County of Columbus. Dated 9 May 1853

Washington and two of Michael's sons Scoveland George William
Jacinths and Michael Marion SELLERS. Michael M. moved to Lake

J. Long and MICHAEL SELLERS. Henry J Long sold a negro girl
named Harriet, about 13 or 14 years old to Michael Sellers for
$700.00. This indenture was witnessed by E. W. SELLERS and
Test W. Long  and registered 10 May 1858.


M-512 Columbus Co., NC Court record.
This Indenture made 10 Jan 1856 between E.W.Sellers and
Michael Sellers. E. W. Sellers sold for $175.00 a tract of land 140
acres to Michael Sellers. The land lays on the East side of Big
Pond Branch, adjoining lands of Mark Ward and David Lewis, M. C.
Dyson desc. E. W. Sellers and Mary Ann Sellers transfers title to
Michael Sellers.
