On this web site I found a book I have looked for, for years. The book is
"The Robbins Family From Virginia to Texas" written by Gladys Robbins Guins
Wrenn. Chapter 5 of this work has much information on Mary Penelope Sellers
and her Sellers family, source information is included. Mary Penelope
Sellers was the wife of Arthur Robbins, Sr. of Brunswick County, NC.

Submitted by Danny Lee Blanton <dannyb@sccoast.net>, August 1999

North Carolina, Brunswick County, NC All rights reserved, 1999.

Located in church yard 1/2 mile north of Hickman's Crossroads on Hickman Road. From
Shallotte take US Hwy 17 south approx 12 miles. Turn right onto Hickman Road located just
south of Brunswick Plantation Golf Course. Located on right approx 2 miles from US 17.

surveyed on 2 Aug 1999 by Danny Lee Blanton and dedicated to the memory of my mother
Annie Jane Ward Blanton Ward Simmons buried here as was a church member.

Though now known as the church cemetery it was originally a family graveyard. Even now the
large percentage of persons buried are descendants of  William Marsdon Benton and his wife
Prudence E Cox who gave the property for the cemetery and church building. The oldest
stone dates from 1885 though there are many unmarked grave that are probably older.
Family tradition says that his parents, Arthur Benton and Rebecca Sellers are buried here.

Also the Wm CELLERS in 1840 Russell Co, Al appears to have died ca 1850?
There is an Elizabeth SELLERS in the 1850 Russell Co., census.
DID he have a will or probate records?

Hi, Marie!!

I found the following message on the boards on AOL and thought you might
like to pursue it.  I know nothing about this line, but perhaps you do.  :)

I have just found your post on Thomas A. Sellers.  Thomas was my great,
great grandfather.   I have not had the chance to research my Sellers ancestory
in any depth yet and I have basically the information you have on Thomas.  I
don't beleive at this point Thomas ever made it back to Mill Creek, his
home is Brunswick County.  (II beleive he might have died in the hospital in
Richmond, I cannot prove this at this point.)  The 1870 Brunswick County
Census lists Charity as head of a household with three of her children.
She was also listed in the 1900 Census but not in the 1910.  Charity is buried
at Funston Baptist Church in Brunswick County and her date of death on her
tombstone is Oct. 10, 1902.
I live in the Mill Creek area now and am working on my family which
includes the Sellers, MdDowells, Lewis, Gores, Hewetts, and Robbins and Johnsons
among others.  I will be glad to share all the information I have with you.  Let
me know if you are interested.
