In the name of God Amen. I, Nancy Gaddy of the State of North Carolina, Anson
County being w___ell but in sound mind & memery giving thanks to the creator
for his goodness calling in mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it
is appointed for all person once to die do make and ordain this my last will
and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend
my Soul in the favor of the Creator that gave it and my body I recommend in
the usual treatment not doubting the same as touching such worldly affairs
wherewith it has pleased the great given of all to bless me in this life. I
give devise and dispose of the sum in the following manner I do hereby appoint
and nominate either of the legatees for Executers or Executrix and first I
desire my lawful contracts to be paid I give my brother and their sisters
namely William H. Ratliff, Susannah T. Ratliff, Rebecca Ratliff and Ann
Ratliff. I give all my lands negroes and other properties of all description
to my above name sisters and brothers in the following manner to be allotted
by three free holder each Legatee the lots are to be as equal as possible then
to be drawn for named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this my
last will and Testament in Witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and
Seal this the fifth day of October and in the year of our Lord one Thousand
eight hundred and fifty three signed and sealing in the presence of
