Hi Marie, I've solved a little tiny piece of a puzzle. I found that Sellers Day in Wooster ave. Church was in Summitt Co., Akron Ohio. It was a church event held to honor and send off David Sellers to study at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. David is my g-mothers brother. Please add to my page-----I still have the same brick wall after all these years----- George b 1774 md. Nancy Yost----

I am looking for Sellers connected to Sellersville-----furthest
proven back is John b 1805-1884 and Leah Snyder Sellers -----they lived
in Vogansville, PA---Lancaster county----they
are buried in Carpenters cemetery----had son George Washington Sellers
1836-1919 md.1857 Sarah Catherine Albright.
The problem is I have as Johns parents(passed down info) a George
b 1774 and Nancy Yost Sellers. I have found a will for Nancy d 1855 (if
it's the right one) she is buried in Pequa Brethern in Christ Church in
Pequa township however there is no George there---there are children Rebecca
& Jacob Stauffer------there is also a Greysanna md. Richard Williams,
a daughter Leah md.Miley or Wiley, a son John and a son David. Finding proof
of Johns parents have been my brick wall----do these people sound familiar
to anyone???? Any help is appreciated-----thanks again----------nancy

Hi Lancaster researchers---here is the family I'm looking for------
SELLERS
I have a John Sellers 1805-1889 md. Leah SNYDER--died
1895 they lived in Vogansville and are buried in Carpenters Union Cemetery-----they
had a son George Washington SELLERS 1836-1919 md. Sarah Catherine ALBRIGHT
I have their children etc)--------my brick wall is finding and proving Johns
parents----I have passed down info that his parents are George SELLERS b
1774 md. Nancy YOST
I did find a will of a Nancy SELLERS (if this is the correct
one) in Pequa township she died in 1855 ---her will states the folowing family:
A son David and a son John
Daughter Rebecca md. Jacob STAUFFER another daughter
Leah married a WILEY or MILEY a daughter Greysanna md. a Richard WILLIAMS.
Part of that family including Nancy are buried in Pequa Brethern In Christ
Church-----but no George is there---my Sellers family is supposed to be
connected to SELLERSVILLE as per an old letter from my Grandmother that
states the Sellers family came over with William (Penn??) and bought property
from William and named it Sellersville.
Does anyone know if there are church records anywhere for Pequa Brethern
or records for Carpenters?
There also has been mentioned going back and forth to Ohio.
Thanks for any help or info you can provide me with---------nancy

was born March 13,1836 and died May 1919 Sarah was born Sept 18,1837 and
died May 10,1927 They had the following children:
Laura Jane, Mary Elizabeth, Leah Louisa, Emma C., John A., William
Grant, Katie Grace, David A.
They were all born in Berks county PA but moved
to Summitt county when the children
were young from what I've been told. George and Sarah died and were buried
in PA. I was hoping to find some of the families of the children. Laura Jane
died a SNYDER and Mary Elizabeth died a BOYLAN.
Nancy Shultis rnplss@worldnet.att.net
Their place of birth was Lower Heidelberg Twp. Berks county.
I was told that they moved to the Akron Ohio area quite early. I really
haven't been able to find them in Ohio though. I also had something staring
me in the face all this time, according to the family Bible my Aunt was
married in Elizabeth New Jersy 1929 by a Rev. J.A.
Sellers. Does anyone know if that J.A. Sellers could be my J. Sellers???
If he is does anyone have any Sellers in New Jersy????? I'd appreciate any
help, thoughts and info on this because it looks like New Jersy will be a
whole new direction for me. I will have to get the family Bible out but
I'm pretty sure the name of the church in Elizabeth wasn't in there.( That
would be to easy, wouldn't it?) Thank you for any help in this matter and
have a great weekend. Nancy
I am looking for info on a minister and his family, a Rev. David
Sellers/b 5/31/1879 in PA and died 7/6/51 Bellevue, Ohio. I do not know
what church he preached in but I was told it was a country church. His g-grandfather
was Jacob Albright founder of the Evangelical church so I'm assuming it was
along those lines. Thank-you for any help in this matter-----Nancy

I just found out today that my Sellers came over from England and bought
a piece of property from a William (William Penn???) They then called
it
Sellersville. I was wondering if anybody has the history of
Sellersville, or an address to Sellersville town historian that I
could
write to, to get the history of the town. I also have more Sellers
to
add to my list but need to organize it first. Thanks for any info
anyone
can give me. Nancy

NANCY, go to SELLERS FAMILY GENEALOGY

I do not have a George SELLERS but I have a Ann YOST b.1809 Pa. She is
the daughter of Abraham YOST-b 10 May 1778 in Pennsylvania and Erasma
GUILLAM or Theresia Billam-b 10 May 1783 probably Pa (don't know) and
died
13 June 1857 in Logansport, Cass County Indiana.
Do you think that she
might tie in
to your Yost line? Juanita DaCosta

Cheryl,
I too am supposedly an anscestor of the founders of Sellersville(which
one i don't know), as per a letter my grandmother wrote to a cousin in
1958. I have not been able to connect to Phillip though as my furtheset
back is a George Sellers born 1774 and md. Nancy Yost. Numerous people
have checked and said there were so may kids back then. My dilema came
when the letter said the Sellers came from ENGLAND bought property from
William and named it Sellersville. That has been explained to me that
alot of germans came here via England. Do you have a time frame for
Phillip? George and nancy did have at least 1 son John born 1805 and
md.
a Leah Snyder---they are supposed to be buried in Vogansville. I have
recently sent to the Historical society to see if I can get cemetery
records-I don't know if that would help at all though. If you have any
thoughts on this please direct me!!!!!! Thanks------nancy

Hi Sellers family!
I have posted this awhile ago but figured I'll give it another
shot.
I am looking for any info on a George Sellers b 1774 he md. a Nancy Yost
and had at least 1 son John born 1805 d 1884. He was married to Leah
Snyder and lived in Vogansville,PA. They are
supposedly buried there too
and I'll be taking a trip next week to Vogansville to check it out, I
just hope there aren't to many cemeteries in Vogansville. I have not
been able to find anything on George and his line he came from. So I'm
just throwing this out again in hopes this may sound familiar to them.
Hope everyone is having a good day and thanks for any leads-------nancy

Hi! Hope everyone is enjoying the start of the weekend------I have 2
things---first of all on a marriage cert. of an ancestor is has the last
name of Selteser with Sellers in parenthesis--------this is the first
I've seen of this spelling does anyone know if that indicates a specific
Sellers line. Secondly I want to add to my info I found the burial
of
John and Leah Sellers. The dates are a little different than what
I had.
John Sellers died Nov. 29,1889 aged 77 years and 21 days.
Leah wife of John Sellers died March 27,1895. Aged 81 years.
They are buried in Carpenters Union cemetery in West Earl Township,
Lancaster county. Any connections??????
-----------nancy
In trying to prove my George and Nancy Sellers I found the will of a
Nancy Sellers (still not sure if she is mine) it had the following
info
I thought I'd pass along. Nancy died in 1855.
Nancy also lived in PequaTownship. Her children were Rebecca md. to
Jacob Stauffer, Greysanna md. to Richard Williams sons John and David.
(I'm hoping that's my John) and then Leah was md. to William Miley.
If
they sound familiar to anyone please let me know. Unfortunatly I still
don't know if i connect to them------ : )
Hope everyone is having a great weekend----------nancy

Hi everyone
I have finally come across a small clue in my dead-end
Sellers search. On Oct. 1st. 1911 at 9am there was a
Sellers Day at the Wooster Ave. Reformed Sunday School.
Has anyone ever heard of Wooster ave Reformed? I believe
it's in PA the Berks/Lancaster area but it could be
anywhere---The picture on the announcement is what I
believe is my Sellers-----so if I could find the church
they are sure to have church records and my search would
be over-----OK everyone stop laughing can dream can't I?
And this is a new year!!!! Hope everyone is having a
wonderful weekend and thanks again for any help on this
matter-----nancy

I would like to thank everyone for their response. I would just like
to add that along with Jacob Stauffer mentioned in Nancy Sellers will she
also mentions her good friend Jonathan Stauffer and a Samuel Stauffer both
were witness' to will with Jonathan being executor---------I can only guess
that maybe Jonathan was Jacobs father and Samuel an Uncle or possibly a brother.
Thanks again and I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

WE don't seem to have Land Deeds, and I'm NOT too sure we have All wills?
if
not, we need.
ALSO, he is a good age for civil war = sometimes = info.
Might show PLACE of birth.
