Subject:  Sellers Family in Pettis Co 1860's-1900

Surname: SELLERS, AGNEW, REAVES, COX, ELKINS
-------------------------

I believe that my gg grandmother, Margaret MATHENY SELLERS AGNEW brought
her family to Pettis Co from Cass Co during the Civil War in response to
General Order 11(?)

Her sons served in the MO 16th Inf (Price's Army?). Her youngest, William
P. SELLERS mustered in Sedalia in 1864.
Her older sons had mustered in Cass Co in 1862.

Her two daughters both married in Pettis Co in 1865.
Maryann H. Sellers married John M. ELKINS and died in childbirth before
1868.
Edith J. Sellers married Robert S. COX and moved to AR.
William married Belle REAVES in 1870. He was living with Belle's family
as a farmhand just before that marriage, making me think that his mother
was possibly no longer living.(Pettis Co census 1870)

William stayed in Pettis Co until his death after 1900. He had several
children, but I have found few records which mention this family.

If anyone has any information or suspects a connecction, please contact
me. Thanks.

1930 census of Sedalia Township Pettis County,  that widow Mary E. Sellers was living in the same apartment building as  her son Raymond Sellers & his wife Cora M. but living with a child I knew nothing about, an Ethel L Gray which I was told in this census written in the margin said that this was a daughter,  it says that she was born in 1892 & James died in 1905 (said information listed below) Anyway could you find this family in Missouri in the 1900 Census, Widow Mary E. Sellers or her son Raymond to see if this Ethel L. was listed, seeing that Mary was a widow, maybe this child might be in her older brothers house hold. ( sorry not sure of County for Mary, Most likely Henry or Pettis )  to see if she would be listed with this family. Any help on this would be much appreciated.

The 1930 PETTIS CO, MO census  DOES list MARY E. SELLERS 75 IL, with a certain house number etc.

The people living next to her have DIFF house numbers, etc = IT LOOKS LIKE.

there are other figures in the LEFT outside margin = looks like WHERE these people should be living  with , etc. They DO NOT appear to be same house numbers,

I WOULD go to   PETTIS CO, MO web page and ask for a look up.

I checked my ancestry.com cenus on internet and can't make out, etc.

There were TWO RAYMOND SELLERS in diff 1930 MO counties, from memory one born 1905 and one born 1910.

I believe the Ruben Sellers listed here to be the son of my William P

Sellers and Belle Reeves. As far as I know, they are not related to Raymond

or Mary. Sara she is Cleva's mother. Ruben and Cleva never had any children

that I know of.
