Hi Marie: Thanks for the email. My grandmother was Linna Sellar, or Sillers,
born
at Tiverton, Devonshire England, abt 1863, married Edwin Steer of Bovey
Tracey, Devonshire.
She died at 8 Abbey Road, Bovey Tracey, Devon on 31 October 1952
Their children were:
Ewart Cecil Steer b. 1898, d. unmarried
Salomie Winifred Steer b. 1888 d. unmarried
Edwin Lewis Steer b. 1893, married Dorothy Thompson
Nora R Steer b. 1890 married Albert Coombes
Sydney Steer b. 1896, d. about 1917
Walter Rolland Steer b. 1896, d. 1961 (my father), married Cora Slee
Author Percy Steer b. 1899, married Phylis Lamble

all at Bovey Tracey, where they lived and died. On my Steer family's side, I
can trace in direct line to abt 1530, but know nothing about our Sellar
connection. The IGI shows a Lavinia Sillers, born at Tiverton abt 1863. I've
wondered whther Linna is a diminutive of Lavinia? I've posted this in the
hope that one or other of the English Sellars researchers might have come
across a branch living or having lived in Tiverton, Devon.  Best wishes,

MIKE, thanks. If you could read or ask for a lookup for the 1881 Devon, England census, you would probably find her living with parents. She should also have an obit in local papers.
