Obituary: New Jersey Lynne Frederick, who was married to Peter
Sellers and starred with him
in a remake of "The Prisoner of Zenda," was found dead in
her bed Wednesday. She was 39.
Although tests were not complete Friday, the British actress
appeared to have died of natural
causes, county coroner's spokesman Scott Carrier said.
In 1985, Frederick won $1.475 million in a London court battle
with the makers of "Trail of the
Pink Panther," which she said insulted the memory of Sellers.
The film was made from discarded clips from the five previous
Pink Panther movies and released
in 1982, two years after Sellers' death.
Frederick's films included "No Blade of Grass" (1970), "Vampire
Circus" (1971), "Henry VIII
and His Six Wives" (1972), "Schizo" (1976), "Voyage of the
Damned" (1976), and "The
Prisoner of Zenda" (1979), a remake of the 1937 classic.
After Sellers' death, Frederick married TV interviewer David
Frost. They divorced in 1982.
