NOW, on our PIKE CO, AL page, we have Several 2-3 SELLERS/WILSON
marriages and also a WATLY/SELLERS MARRIAGES.
SOME of these people went to WISE CO, TX
=http://showcase.netins.net/web/sellerfamily/txwise.htm

WE need the ages of this MATHEW WILSON and family and if they could be
same as listed in the some of the papers on Pike Co, Al page.  MARGIE,
maybe you could follow thro on this and advise?
http://showcase.netins.net/web/sellerfamily/alpike.htm
After you get to this page, go up to your top left screen and click on
EDIT, then click on FIND IN PAGE and type in WILSON and keep clicking
till you find all - check out ANY info that may go together. IF you or
ANYONE has extracted the WILSON census in PIKE CO , advise.

NOW if JAMES H. SELLERS was born ca 1819 in ALABAMA, his DAD was here
BEFORE the others or most came from BRUNSWICK CO, NC ca 1830? listed on
Pike Co page or history.
SO any CHILD born in AL before the date that several SELLERS came could
be a possibilty.

We do have a JAMES SELLERS here in 1820  AL close to MONROE and CLARK?
counties. NOW in 1819/20 THIS area may have laid further EAST toward
Pike than it does now. Connecuh Co is in between and it was made from
MONROE CO land.
There is a JAMES SELLERS in Pike Co, Al born ca 1760/70 = could this be
the JAMES SELLERS from 1810 BRUNSWICK CO, NC CENSUS?

ALL help welcomed. PLEASE send copies thro our SELLERS group. marie,
iowa

Hello Marie,
I have been to NARA`S Southwest  Region in  Fort Worth for index books
and census records as I live in a small town. I wish I could say that I had a
lot of luck but that was not the case. I have learned when you get a chance
to get index records get them or you will be going back at some time. I was
looking for records on the Wilson children and in most cases I could not be
sure I had the right  Wilson  as they are as many as the Jones nearly. I will
send on to you the census records that I am sure of Sellers and Wilsons.
Marie,  I am thinking about going to the Archives in Montgomery,
Alabama to look at deed and probate records for Sellers. Have you ever
researched there or know  someone who has? I am begining to think the only
way to find James H. Sellers`s parents is to look at deed and probate records
in Alabama. What are you thougths on this idea? When I go to the library to
research most of the time , I go to Dallas or Shreveport because the smaller
libraries do not have all the census for the states.
I will send on to you the census records of Sellers and Wilson by mail
for the SELLERS PAGE.
Thank you for any help or wisdom or experiences you can pass on to me
as I am new to this and would welcome help.
Sorry for the loss of your mother-in-law in your family.

      Personal for Marie Sellers Hollinger

MARGIE, Thanks.
It might help prove who lived next to and who the land went to after the parent died.
The BLM land on the net will give you a legal description of land.
IF JAMES SELLERS 1819 lived in Pike Co, Al in 1830  Only two SELLERS had males that age
AND if he was born in AL. Only the JAMES SELLERS was here then. I don;'t believe B.D. SELLERS came earlier? Have to recheck that.
KEEP us posted on anything new. marie, iowa

MARGIE, Thanks,
AND the added document = we Need this kind of info!
TO Help Prove/Separate these families.

I kinda think Some of These families CAME before the others =
Some SELLERS Kids are born here in AL in late 1820"s?
Other Census would maybe  help prove this?
WE need to know Which and if from same county or county next to?

Joseph Sellers has 2 sons leave home between 1840 Census and 1850 Census of
Pike County, Alabama.
Joseph Sellers, the son, I think had 2 wives, Ann and Martha and I think that because of deed records and census records showing Martha age and the children ages.

I have James Sellers wife was Elizabeth, the only one I found.

Message Board Post:

Jo Ann, it is good to see your family, our family. The SELLERS family is a very large family. With the number of Sellers males taking the DNA test, I am surprised that more have not matched up with ours, that are descendants of James Sellers Sr..
Elhelred Sellers and James Sellers, Jr. were brothers.
Elhelred had a son, Almond Lewis and a
daughter, Rebecca, who married William Boyd and James Kell.
All of Elhelred Sellers children are not known by name but he had more than 2 children. I only know of one child of
James Sellers, Jr.., Joseph Sellers. Who his brothers and sisters were, I do not know.
It was unusual just to have one child. Almond Lewis Sellers and Rebecca Sellers were first cousins of my ggrandfather, James H. Sellers . There were a lot of Sellers family in Coryell County, Texas. James Sellers, Jr., Almond Lewis Sellers, Joseph Sellers and James H. Sellers had lived in Pike County, Alabama. William Boyd died in Montgomery County, Alabama. They all had come from North Carolina to Alabama. I have that James Sellers, Jr. was the son of James Sellers, Sr. who was the son of William Benjamin Sellers, Sr. who was the son of Matthew William Sellers who was the son of John Sellers who was the son of William Sellers, Sr. who came from England to the state of Virginia. How long the Sellers family was in England or what port they came to England from, I do not know. I have never seen research beyond England but I would love to know.
I hope I have been clear enough not to be confusing about our ancestor and how we descended down. I sometime get someone in the wrong place. Margie Sellers Allen
