Lorretta Sinclair <zinclair@netsense.net>
Looking for info on Sarah Sellers/Sollers. She md Miles Harrison
in
Hunterdon Co., NJ in 1731.
They were both from Bucks Co.,Pa.
They had
one
dtr, Ann who md Henry Ritchey. They also lived in Bucks Co.
Miles
Harrison died in 1774, Sarah died abt 1790. Sarah's father
could be
Henrich Sollers, of Sellersville, Pa.
Thanks for any help.

===========
I'll give you everything I have on Sarah Sellers who md Miles Harrison.
It
isn't much. Hope I've answered all your questions from my
first query a
few days ago.
Thank you also for the information on the will. Chester Co
is not too far
from Bucks Co. It is separated by Philadelphia County.
All three are the
original counties. You probably already know that though.
I have the will of Miles Harrison and copied herein. Somewhere
I have a
blurb on Heinrich Sollers
of Sellersville, Bucks Co., Pa and will send a copy of that as well.
I
believe it says that he came with his family in 1730. We just
made a move
from California to Rhode Island, so not only am I way behind in
research,
but I don't know where most of my stuff is other than I can tell
you it is
in a box *somewhere*. So bear with me.
Please add any of this info to the website that you think pertinent.
Miles Harrison married Sarah Sellers in Hunterdon Co, NJ on 22 Jun
1731
(sce: pg 175 NJ Colonial Documents, Marriage Licenses). The
notation on
their marriage states they are both from BUCKS Co., Pa. I
have not seen
the original record (can't seem to locate the right film), so I
do not
know
who was witness to this marriage. The book I found was a typed
version in
Hunterdon Co.
I do not have any dates on Sarah Sellers Harrison other than approximate
guesses based on her marriage. Guessing she was atleast 18
would place
her
birthdate around 1713. Her son in law Henry Ritchey and dtr
Ann sold the
land of Miles Harrison in 1790, so that is when I placed her approximate
death. Similarly for Miles Harrison, I have no birthdate,
but if he was
20/21 when he married, his birthdate would be about 1710/1711.
He owned
150 acres in Bucks Co, but to date, I have been unable to find a
deed for
that purchase. I did find the following:
pg 19 of Warranties of Land in County of Bucks, Pa 1733-1889, 974.821
R2W:
by Mildred Williams and Janet Brittingham:
Harrison, Miles, 150 acres, date of survey; 3 Aug 1737
The HARRISON surname is not prevalent in Bucks Co during this timeframe.
I
don't know when Miles Harrison came to this country or if he was
born
here.
The Harrison and Sellers lines have been difficult for me.

Other information:
I do not have any dates on Ann Harrison Ritchey
Henry Ritchey died in 23 August 1806 at the age of 80 in Bucks Co.
(sce:
Bucks County Intelligencer) That makes his approximate birthdate
1726.
They're ch:
Ann Mary md Thomas Clark
Elizabeth md John Reasner
Mary md William Higgins (think they may have gone to Philadelphia)
Hannah md Jacob Finn (removed to Philadelphia)
Henry md Mary
Isaac md Ann
Moses md Rebecca
Jacob b Jun 1756 in Bucks Co, Pa d 19 Apr 1836 in Archer Twp, Harrison
Co.,
OH md Mary Ann
Margaret md 7 Apr 1762 in Revere, Bucks Co., Pa d 7 Nov 1845 md
Jeremiah
Clark, removed to Hunterdon Co., NJ (This is my primary line for
this
family)
I have found NO church records for the Harrison family in Pa, though
I
still have Quaker records left to check.
I found very few records (less than 10) on the Ritchey's and they
were
from
the Red Hill Presbyterian Church in Tinicum Twp, Bucks Co., Pa.
These children have been awful to trace. Of late, I have not
had the
chance to work on them more, but now that I am closer to NJ/Pa,
I am
hoping
to make a trip down this summer and work on my lines. Is there
anyone on
the list working Bucks Co?? Is there other people working
in Chester Co?
I would be willing to try and get records for the website when I
go to Pa,
but don't want to duplicate what is already available.
