I'm working on identifying Barbara Sellers, wife of the Henry Sellers
who
died 1829 in Greene Co., OH. They arrived from Rockingham/Hardy
Co., VA
about 1817. (Among their children was Henry Sellers who married
Barbara
Ohmart.) Recently I've seen a claim that she was Barbara Link,
but each time
the statement is made without verification.
Below is a GenForum message to the Sellers forum that was posted
about 18
months ago. The Lincoln Co., NC information included may be
the source of
the claim that Henry Sellers Sr.'s wife was Barbara Link.
Can we identify the Barbara Link who married a Sellers in Lincoln
County, NC?
I'm having a difficult time with the contention Henry Sellers
Sr. of
Rockingham/Hardy Co., VA and Greene Co., OH was her second husband.

Yesterday I renewed my interest in genealogy
(I do this several times a
year!) and spent the day at the local (Lincoln Co., NC) library.
I found a
few small pieces of info that I was to pursue to try to conquer
one of my
"brick walls"
In the late 1760's, Jacob Link and his wife, Barbara (maiden name
unknown),
came to North Carolina from Pennsylvania with their four children
-
Frederick, Jacob, John, and Catherine. Sometime in 1769, Jacob died
leaving
Barbara a widow with four children. Guardians were appointed for
them.
A few years later, Barbara is being referred to as "Barbara Sellers"
so she
obviously remarried.
In your research have you come across a Sellers who may have been
in the NC
area around that time and married a widow named Barbara? Of course,
this may
not have occurred in NC at all, but since her children for the most
part
remained here in NC, I just can't imagine she would have traveled
far. When
they got older some of her children did go west and ended up in
Missouri.
Anything sound remotely familiar?
and I'm sure you have the LINK info from Rock Co, VA?
HENRY SELLERS 1777/1829 GREENE CO, OH and wife BARBARA LINK d/o DANIEL
LINK and wife CATHERINE.
(FRANK SELLERS also shows this marriage W/O documents, msh) But, DoesNot?
show his kids?,msh)
Their son MAYBE (maybe this part isn't documented?,msh) = HENRY
1800 VA/1848 married 1822 Clark Co,Oh BARBARA OHMART, d/o CHRISTIAN OHMART
and ANN WEAVER.
ANYONE have any corrections to these postings?
ANYONE have the JOHN HAMMER heirs of 1790 abstracted? includes LINKS
PETER CONRAD'S WILL of 1800 abstracts?=wife MARY EVE, sister
of BARBARA (MRS HENRY) SELLERS and sister CHRISTINA (MRS JOHN) HAMMER
BUT, it looks like we DON'T have copy of DANIEL LINK'S will? altho
, they are listed as Heirs of DANIEL LINK, dec'd.
We don't have the documents posted, but, they could be abstracted from
ZELLERS/SELLERS book.
DOES ANYONE have them abstracted or typed up?
Thanks for sharing.
