Information I have about John Finley Sellers, father of Milton Hawkins
Sellers of Taylor Co., IA.   Where a source is available, I have noted it.
Census records already checked for Milton Hawkins Sellers confirms some of
this information.

Mormon source records say John Finley Sellers was a son of John Sellers and
Elizabeth Finley, whereas The Ochiltree Family genealogy of 1916 says he was
a son of Nathan Sellers.  However, the will left by Nathan Sellers did not
mention John Finley Sellers.

b. February 22, 1791 in Kentucky.
d. January 12, 1875 in Putnam Co., IN.
m. Rebecca Sellers, July 24, 1817 in Garrard Co., KY.

John Finley Sellers and Rebecca Sellers were first cousins.  Rebecca Sellers
was a daughter of James Sellers, brother of John Finley Sellers.

John Finley Sellers family moved from Garrard Co., KY to Monroe Co., IN in
1819, staying for three years, then moved to Putnam Co., IN.

REFUSED FOOD 44 DAYS:  DIES

Firmly refusing all food for forty two days, Isaac D. Adamson, aged 77
years, literally starved himself to death at the home of his daughter, Mrs.
Rachel Sellers on Garvey Lane, says the Bedford Mail.

Nothing would induce the aged man to take nourishment and that fact coupled
with his age resulted in his death Friday.
