Sims Source: THE HISTORY OF LOGAN COUNTY, IL by STRINGER, 1911, pages 67,68 JOSEPH SELLER -- LOGAN CO, ILLINOIS Joseph Seller was born in Bavaria, Germany March 30, 1840 and came to the United States at age of 12 with his parents. The family settled near Ashford, Fondulac Co, WI where he lived with his parents until their death. His mother died May 30, 1896 at age 82 and his father died June 21, 1903 at age 96 years. At the outbreak of the Civil War, Joseph enlisted in the 9th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry, and served three and one-half years. In 1865 Joseph SELLER married Magdalena TILL at Ashford, Wisconsin. She was born in Luxemburg, Germany. They came to Logan Co, IL in the fall of 1865. On November 26, 1887 Magdalena died and the following year Joseph remarried to Mrs. Mary SELLER. She was a widow with two daughters - Barbara SELLER and Mrs. Lucy WACHTER. Joseph SELLER died Nov 26, 1899 at the age of 59 years, 8 months, 20 days. He and his family were members of the Roman Catholic church. **(note this doesn't quite fit with the first paragraph, "until their death") Children by 1st wife; Mrs. Mary WACHTER, Jacob, Joseph C. and Frank. By second wife: Mary Magdelena, George Arthur and Martha Angeline. Others mentioned in book: Wesley, Lindsey, Wilcox D., Elijah O., Stephen, Effie M., Charles E. and John E. ZOLLARS.
