Harold D. Swartzbaugh, 90 of
Pittsfield, formerly of Canton, died Wednesday,
Aug. 1, 2001, at Liberty
Village in Pittsfield. Born DEC, 26, 1910 in
McDonough County to Jess L.
and Frances Dyer Swartzbaugh. He married
Elizabeth Sellers on July
5, 1935, in Carthage (Hancock County. ) She
survives. Also surviving are
one daughter, Mrs. Roger (Joan) Baughman of
Pittsfiels; two grandchildren,
Mrs. Michael (Lori) Clarkson of Quincy Mo. and
Jeff Baughman of Jacksonville.
Harold Swartzbaugh taught school in Canton in
1933 and became principal in
1934, a position he held for 24 years. He then
became Superintendent of
Canton Schools in 1957, retiring in 1971. (
Pittsfield ILL. is about 30
miles east of Hannibal, MO.)

Canton, ILL. --- M. Elizabeth Swartzbaugh, 88, formerly of Canton died Monday, Oct, 22, 2001, at Liberty Village
in Pittsfield, where she was a
resident. Born Jan, 27, 1913, in Missouri to Ross and Ada Cross Sellers, she
married Harold Swartzbaugh on July 5, 1935, In Carthage. ( ILL.) He
died Aug, 1, 2001. She also was preceded in death by one granddaughter.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Roger
( Joan ) Baughman of Pittsfield, two grandchildren and two great
grandsons. ... They moved to Pittsfield in 1993. Services will be at 11
a. m,
Saturday at Murphy Sedgwick Memorial Home ... Burial will be in Greenwood
Cemetery.

Miss Sarah Sellers was born at Waynesburg Pa. in Sept, 19, 1832, And departed
this life at the home of her daughter Mrs. Charles Bellville March 22, 1922.
Age 89 and 6 months and 10
days.She came with her parents to Ohio. Later coming to Ill. She was united
in marriage to Andrew L. Kee. May 1, 1853. They settled in Harmony Twp. east of
Bentley Ill. Where a family of 9 children were born. Mr. Kee and five of the
children preceded her in death. Those living are Mrs. Mary E. Sellers of Pratt, Ks. Mrs. Charles Bellville of Carthage Ill. and
Mrs., Viola Michaelis
of Chicago, Ill. and one son, L. J. Kee of Plymouth Ill. and a number of
grandchildren. She was laid to rest March 24th. at Harmony Cemetery.// Hear are
the list of the Kee children's names that I have taken from the 1860
census of McDonough County ILL. Mary age 5, William
age 3, Elijh 5/12 all born Ill. Listed below is where this family is in the
1880 census of Illinois & Missouri
