OBITUARY

ALVIN SILAS TOOL

Alvin Silas TOOL, son of Quin and Selina OLDHAM TOOL and great grandson
of Adam TOOL one of the first settlers of the county, was born January
30, 1881. In Jasper county and always resided here in the Tool Chapel
vicinity.
Died December 20, 1939 at the age of 58 years 10 months and 21 days at
the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
He was united in marriage to Myrtle KINART on Dec. 4, 1901. To this union
eight children were born, Carroll of Reasnor, Mrs. Henry BRAND of near
Monroe, Wanda and Wilma of Newton, Lyle, Geraldine, John and Vernon all
at home, there five grandchildren.
The funeral services were held at Tool Chapel at two o'clock Friday
afternoon,
December 22, 1939 and was conducted by Rev. McELDOWNEY.
Music was by Mrs. Louie BRODERSON, Mrs. Louis VANDER POL, Ivan BRODERSON
and George TOOL all of near Reasnor.
Songs "The Old Rugged Cross" "In The Garden" and "Face To Face", Mrs. Bert
VAUGHN at the piano.
Pallbearers were Raymond KINART, Doyle KINART, Vern SHANKLAND, Charles
STICKNEY, John LUNDEEN and Rex LINT.
Those that took charge of the flowers were Mrs. George SELLERS and Mrs.
Neal MCKEE.
Burial in the Monroe Cemetery.
Those that are left to mourn the loss of this loved one besides his wife,
children and grandchildren are his aged mother, Mrs. Selina TOOL and a
brother Arthur both of Tacoma Park, Maryland, a sister, Mrs. James FOSTER
and many other relatives and friends.
