On the 1890 census - yes, the federal info was destroyed in a fire, but the good news for Clinton is:  Iowa took
  a state census in 1885 and 1895 plus an additional special census in 1887.  You should be able to get these
  records on microfilm from an LDS Family History Center or through inter-library loan from the State Historical
  Society in Des Moines.  Good Luck --
