Does anyone have any info on Fannie Helena Sellers
? The b-date I have
for her is Feb. 2, 1856. She is the daughter of George H. Sellers
and
Rowena Mundy. She married Clark Hayner Nov 16,1876. Her
death is listed
as Mar 22, 1883. I am working on my Sellers line, but I am not
sure
where these Sellers are from. I was told from a Franklin County but
I
am not sure of the state. Clark and Fannie had a set of twins
George
Mundy and Lewis Lee who were born and lived in Miami
County, Ohio. I
know Fannies's family was not from Ohio. I'm thinking maybe Mississippi.
If anyone has any info that could steer me in the right direction I'd
surely appreciate it.

Thank you so much for your help. I went through
my Grandmother's papers
again to see if I could identify Harvey. I had figured he must be a
cousin to George H. I happened upon a folder marked MUNDY- SELLERS
that
I must of missed because of it's out of the way location in her files.
I still could not id Harvey, however I found the information
on Fannie
I was looking for. She was actually born in Warren
County, OH. and was
an only child. Her father George H. SELLERS was a lawyer in Franklin
County, MS in the 1850 Census. He is the
brother to William F SELLERS
who married George's sister-in -law, Helen Ione MUNDY KINNISON.
George and Willam were sons of John SELLERS and Elizabeth GALLEHER.
John was the son of Jacob SELLERS and Christena RUNKEL from Rockingham,
VA. They moved to Warren County, OH around
1798 or 1799, according to my
Grandmother's records. George H. SELLERS was actually born in Warren
County, OH. and moved to Franklin, MS. where he met and married Rowena
MUNDY. Rowena's father was very wealthy and left the MUNDY plantation
in
Franklin County, MS to George and Rowena SELLERS and To William and
Helen SELLERS including it's 104 slaves. The MUNDY family homestead
was
then left to Fannie Helena SELLERS who had married Clark HAYNER from
Warren County, Oh. The property in turn went to the couple's 3 boys.
Lewis, George(twin of Lewis)and Arthur HAYNER. The HAYNER boys were
born
in Miami County, OH. They and their mother (Fannie SELLERS) are buried
with father Clark in the HAYNER family plot in Riverside Cemetery in
Miami County. Hence I was wrong about my SELLERS. They are not Miami
County but Warren County and they were not from Franklin County, MS
(this was the MUNDY side). I was so excited to come across this
folder
which I never would had I not been looking for the Harvey SELLERS!!!!!
Anyway, there is nothing back farther than Jacob SELLERS and with my
curiosity now peaked on Jacob, looks like the race is still on for
my
SELLERS line. I am wondering about the James A. SELLERS you have listed
on the Miami County census, as his name comes up on Rowena's
SELLERS
Family Bible yet I am unable to place him. It shows his death as May
18th 1855. Perhaps someone may know. Anyway thank you so much for your
helpful response! I am new to Geneaology research and I am finding
this
very exciting.

married a Kinnison? marriage = Wm F. Sellers married 8-22-1865 Warren

Has anyone traced the Sellers family through the German roots? If so

do we get info or go about investigating? I'd appreciated any tips.
Where in Germany is the Sellers/Zellers surname most prolific?

Marie,
My Grandmother has a virtual gold mine in this folder. I had no idea
she
had done so much research and of course wasn't interested at the time
when she was alive. Hindsight!
I have a marriage certificate from Warren County, Ohio for William
F.
Sellers and Helen Ione Kinnison. I was assuming from the bible records
that Helen Ione Kinnison was Helen Ione Mundy. I have Littleton Mundy's
will (very hard to read) which mentions Helen Ione and William F.
Sellers as heirs. I do wonder whether Helen Mundy was first married
to a
Kinnison or they are two completely different ladies as is listed in
the
Sellers Family Book by Frank M. Sellers.
I have discovered since last e-mail that Harvey Sellers of Miami Co,
OH
(in the 1880 census) is my George C. Sellers' (husband to Fannie Helena)
twin brother. Since George was a lawyer and Harvey is listed as a lawyer
they must have pursued the same occupation as well.
I have also found pictures of an historical house named the
SELLERS-HAYNER house in Warren County- Clearcreek township on Miami
River. Shortly before her death my Grandmother took a trip to Ohio
and
apparently took pictures of the house and of SELLERS and HAYNER
grave
sites in Warren and Miami Counties.
There are some copies of Bible Records and some transcripts (also
very
hard to read )
written by one of the Sellers in 1887. The first part as I can
read
starts out as: Three brothers emigrated from Germany. One settled
in
Pennsylvania; one in Maryland, and the other in Virginia. They were
German Lutherans. Our family is from the Virginia branch.........
It goes on to tell of treaties with indians and the paths the brothers
traveled and so on. These are just copies so someone has originals
somewhere. If these papers might help any Sellers let me know.
I have
just been in heaven the last few days coming across these records that
I
had no idea existed!
