The Sellars that I'm interested in is James b.a.1786 NC. WIfe
Cherra
Ann--have seen also as Charity on censuses. She b.1808 GA.
Married by
1826 as oldest child Soloman was b. a.1826 ALA. Other children
Elijah
b.a. 1830, Stanfield b.a 1835 d. TX 1870 m.Melinda Parmer
1858 TX. Peter
b.a.1840, d. Ark., Rachel Eliz. b.1843 m.1869 TX d.1883
m. John Polvado
, James Colman b. 1846 d. 1919 New Mex. m.1879 Delilah
Ann Askins. Who
is father of this James Sellars? Have been told he m. 1817
in Grainger co
Tenn, but that can't be correct since his wife would have only been
9
years old.at the time.
2 doors now is AMBROSE CRAIN 61 GA
But, he appears to be here in 1840 also.
I saw only JAMES SELLERS in AL 1840=Monroe
Co, Al - laid next to Pike Co then, and Pike
Co, Al on same page as JOSEPH SELLERS - I do Not have ages or kids from
these census.
Does ANYONE know who these are?
CIVIL WAR files on any of these boys? They seem to be living in
adjoining counties, McLennan Co, TX, Coryell
Co, TX(this is Pike Sellers) Limestone Co,TX.
JAMES SELLERS 1786 NC is young enough to be in the 1835 GA Wars
also?
I will Link you to these counties/states - perhaps, someone will
find you and share. Thanks, marie, iowa

War Info might be the next best to check -
IF you read either of the 1840 AL census - advise ages - IF we could
prove
this kids on the census, makes a little more positive and could
work on
that JOSEPH SELLERS in Pike Co,AL or whoever his neighbors
are in Monroe
Co, AL.
There Also is a JAMES ZELLERS, page 384 and also JACOB SELLERS, page 384
Also, if one of the boys was in CW, may tell exactly where born -
NAMES = many times you find One child with maiden name in NC/AL,etc
and
you have most of your middle names =
Have you checked vs 1830/40 names in Pike/Monroe Co,AL?
I Wish SomeOne would post the 1840 PIKE CO, AL census on these two
James
SELLERS -
We also need 1840 Monroe Co, Al for James Sellers
Keep Searching - Best Wishes - marie, iowa
Marie, Lose them in 1870 BUT find son James in Mc Lennon Co m. to
Delia
(Delilah Ann Askins dau. of Henry Newton and Sara Jane Boltin Askins
.
Living with them is his mother Cherra age 67 b. GA. This is on p.
100 of
Mc Lennon Co. James Coleman Sellars is my son-in-laws gg-grandfather.
Apparently he was in the Civil War as I checked that today
and he did
receive a pension. If that pension record is like the one
received for my
husband's grandfather it tells very little. The better record
there was
out of the national archives which gave age, height eye and
hari color
but not names of parents.
Three places up in this census is Martin Sellers age 39, I think--film
hard to read also b. Ala. w. Eliza and 5 children.
Have the Askins in 1850-60-70 all TX, Also have his father
and her
parents. Really have done extensive research on this family,
Just
haven't found the father.s name of this particular James Sellars.
If I
had the 1830/40 censuses I could narrow down which county in Ala
they came
from.
Sellers, Martin 39 b.Ala
Eliza 27 b.LA
Henry ? 10 b.TX

8 b. TX
