SELLERS CEMETERY: Located in Appling County five miles out from Baxley
toward the Altamaha River. The oldest marked grave is that of Mary M.,
first--wife of John M. Sellers, died May 23, 1853.

From  Patrick Barnes <pbarnes@nefcom.net>
>Volume 4 Additions/Corrections to vol. 3: Sellers, Samuel (page 290):
> >
> > John Sellers, listed as a son with wife named Keziah, was in fact a
> > nephew instead of a son. Samuel's son, John, was named John Millender
> > Sellers and was born 1812 (q.v.).
1850 census shows:

Household 6 as John M. (38) and Mary M. Sellers (32) with children. This
should be the son of Samuel (not John) and the daughter of Solomon
Mobley.

Household 169 as John (33) and Keziah (28) with children. This should be
the son of John and not Samuel as Huxford noted in the census.

I have no information of who the Father of John (husband of Keziah)
really is. I don't even have them or any of the children in my database.

I believe that William and his siblings may be the children of John
Millender SELLERS and Elizabeth CARTER.  They are both buried in the
Sellers
Cemetery 5 miles north of Baxley, GA.  Their son William was born in 1858;
however, I do not know who he married.  He had a sister named Catherine
born
in 1862.  bp

On family 169: child Samuel did not die before 1860 as it says.  He is the
ggrandfather of Betty Parrish and she notes that this is the only census
where he is listed as Samuel.  In later censuses he is listed as Manning.
His marriage license to Catherine DIXON lists his name as Marion.

Marie,
I believe that the Mary M. Sellers shown in House # 6 who married
William R. Carter moved with him to Washington County, Florida
and is buried here. I have recently been talking with some of the
local Carter's, one which is doing research, and thios is what he
told me. If anyone is interested I can probably verify.

Marie,
At http://www.sos.state.ga.us/archives/default.htm you will find under
Civil War
Pension Records a document from Appling County, Ga dated 28 Oct 1916. This
is a
copy of the original submission for John H. Sellers' pension. This can be
copied
by using your computers browser.

This John was born 12 May 1848 and enlisted on 12 May 1864 with Co. B, 11th
Regt. of Ga (Whitehead Regt.)

I hope that this helps someone.

I'm not on the list, but I thought some of you might find this document
interesting: http://www.synthcom.com/~jdm/genealogy/georgia.htm .  It has
some details on 3 Sellers/McEachin marriages, and information on the
McEachins going all the way back to Scotland (well, you'll have to look at
the other docs for that).

I've enjoyed the Sellers / Appling Co. page.

Subject:  DOUGLAS(S)

I am searching for information about my ggg-grandfather, Fred(e)rick
Douglass, who probably lived in South Carolina in the late 1700's.

He had a son, Alexander William Douglas, who lived in Appling County,
Georgia.  Alexander was born around 1795-1800 and died on November 13,
1870.  Alexander's wife was Dicy ___.  She may have been a Watson, a Bowen,
or a Sellers.

Fred(e)rick was said to have been born in Burke County, so I assume this
refers to Burke Co., NC.  His father may have been James (Jim) Douglas who
came from Ireland.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
