Descendants of Ephraim Sellers
Generation No. 1
1. EPHRAIM4 SELLERS (JOHN "BLACKSMITH"3, FRANCIS CONRAD2, UNKNOWN
FATHER1)
was born 1832 in Haywood Co., N. C., and died 1888 in Habersham
County,
Georgia. He married SARAH E. PRINCE August 30, 1857 in Habersham
County,
Georgia, daughter of JAMES PRINCE and MARY MEARS. She was born March
08,
1831 in Georgia, and died in Habersham County, Georgia.
Notes for EPHRAIM SELLERS:
According to 1860 Census Records, Habersham County, Ephraim Sellers,
born
1833 is listed on GEORGIA CENSUS:
EPHRAIM CILLARS, Household/Dwelling #942/942, age 27, male, farmer,
$250
personal property, born NC. = born 1833.
CILLARS, SARAH E., age 27, female, housekeeper, born GA, = 1833.
CILLARS, MALINDA ANN, age 1, female, born GA, = 1859
-----
Ephraim Sellers did not show up on the 1870 Census of Habersham County,
Georgia.
The story is that this is the Sellers man that did not come back
from the
Civil War and was never heard of again. However, someone had sent
me his
death date and something here is just not right. If he died in 1888,
where
was he on the 1870 and 1880 census?
Notes for SARAH E. PRINCE:
Mary is living with Sarah in the 1870 Census of Habersham County,
Georgia,
along with Sarah's children, Malinda and Jeremiah. Sarah's husband,
Ephraim
Sellers is not listed on the 1870 Census.

Notes for GEORGE WELDON SELLERS:
"Life Along The Middle Broad River", by Patti Evans-Shumate and Rebecca
Bruce:
GEORGE SELLARS HOME
The George Sellars house was northwest of the Toccoa Pumping Station
and
West along the Guard Camp Road. A branch of the Middle Fork of the
Broad
River is southwest of the place, and there are ornamental plantings
of crepe
myrtle trees and an unusual Balm of Gilead tree, which was frequently
used
for medicinal purposes.
Today the site is covered in briars, daffodils, and buttercups and
sits on a
terrace above the branch. Beulah Brown Sellars lived in this house
with her
husband, George. In an interview in 1987, Mrs. Sellars spoke of
her home
place which was known as "The Old Tabor Place". She moved in after
her
marriage in 1918. She remembered three rooms and a kitchen, two
rock
fireplaces, and a large porch. She could also remember the well
which was
located under a wood shelter in the back yard. She spoke of a big
barn and a
smoke house, and talked of raising corn, cotton, and vegetables.
She could
also remember their renters (The Rays) living in a house northwest
of this
one. Mrs. Sellars went to Ayersville School and Mt. Pleasant Church
while
living in the area. At the time of government acquisition, this
property was
a part of Camp Toccoa.

MEMPHIAN KILLED BY OWN TRUCK
Everett Sellers, a World War II Paratrooper and recipient of a Purple
Heart,
met death early today beneath the wheels of his own truck.
State Troopers said Sellers, 41, of 5204 Bendel Circle, died at a
Brownsville Hospital shortly after the 2:30 a.m. accident on Interstate
40,
four miles east of Braden, Tennessee.
Trooper Roy Morrisett of Somerville said Sellers was probably checking
the
tires of his tractor-trailer truck parked on the side of the highway,
when
another truck hit the rear and he was run over by his own truck.
The Highway Patrol said the driver of the other truck, James Matthews
of
White Creek, was slightly injured. He was not charged.
Sellers was wounded in France during the war and underwent 28 operations
on
his eyes and a shattered shoulder, his family said.
Sellers had left Memphis about 1 a.m. in the truck, which he owned,
and was
hauling produce for Armour & Co. to Nashville.
He was a native Memphian, attended Snowden School and graduated from
Fayette
County High at Somerville.
He is survived by his wife, the former Gladys Glancy; two sons, Everett
Sellers, Jr., 11, and Randal Wayne Sellers, 9; two brothers, N.A.Sellers,
Jr. and W.W. Sellers all of Memphis, and two sisters, including
Mr. and Mrs.
F.A. Lezini of Memphis.
Memphis Funeral Home has charge.
