Subject:  George Sellers (1780-1855)

Looking for information on a George Sellers - born about 1779-1780. He
is buried next to my 3x-great grandmother, Elizabeth Sellers McCoy, at
the Two Ridges Cemetery, Wintersville, Jefferson County, Ohio. George (age
72) and Sarah (age 76) are living in the same household in the 1850
Jefferson
County census with my John S. McCoy and Elizabeth Sellers. I suspect that
they are the grandparents of Elizabeth based on their ages. George died
on March 1, 1855.

I'm looking at Franklin County, PA records as there is a land transaction
listed in the Steubenville, Ohio land records where a George Sellers from
Franklin County, PA purchases land. This was on August 5, 1811 and I
suspect
that this could be my George.

This is a shot in the dark but if anyone has any information on a possible
link for a George and Sarah Sellers let me know. Thanks in advance.

ED, sending this thro our SELLERS discussion group as we may have
members working on this family. Please send copy of any letters to
SELLERS. Which child do you connect to and where did they go?
I see we show =
4-20-1808 JAMES CELLAR of WASHINGTON, PA was granted land at
Steubenville,
Ohio land office for section 29, twn 6, range 2 = JEFFERSON CO, OHIO

And James, Joseph and George SELLERS all lived on Cross Creek.
Otherwise, we don't have much info on Jeff Co, Oh.
ANY info you have would be appreciated.

Thanks for the additional info.  I'll be sure to post future
queries or
information on the Sellers list.  Thanks.
