DAWN, Thanks - NO,-  he is listed on my index of Blount Co,Tn 1850
with same names that appear as his family in 1860 - could be an error -
But, need to correct-SISTLER'S have Not answered my  e-mail-
Will try and follow up with them - He could  be in a NC county - believe
I checked the border counties.
OR living with someone else and surname entered as Head of House name-
Civil War records =
Church records
MY index of names (looking at now)  does Not show where HIRAM SELLERS
1823 BORN = ?
or where dau MARTHA 1845 born =
I did Not find Lucy CARROLL  connection to Sellers, but , could be
in-law
MUCH not proven and Needs work -
SELENA SELLERS does indicate a name pattern - (connected to
Brown/Patterson/Sellers from Tn County =?
Check surrounding counties - many land changes and if close to county
line - some went to that county seat , instead of Their county= county
records.
Any info , send,
Thanks, marie, iowa

7-24-98= Phoned Sistler tonite and he has 1850 Blount Co, Tn census on microfilm - he will read for us, esp page 55 for SELLERS and advise 1st of next week.
We need to Know where the kids born - before 1860 - could help us know where they are -
WHEN we receive census info-will post, msh

KAYLA-The 1850 cd-rom Blount Co,TN  Census by Broderbund   re: HIRAM
SELLERS is an ERROR - It is the 1860 Blount Co, Tn census reading for
Hiram Sellers and family that is posted on the 1850 Blount Co, Tn census
by Broderbund

Bryon SISTLER reread the 1850 Blount Co, Tn census for us and confirmed
above and states that Henry born 1854 is stated by his parents as born
NC in the 1860 census.
and also other older children born NC
Later HENRY shows TN on census.
WE are on the NC border and many county changes-

Also name patterns from GREENE CO, TN and WHERE they came from =

THEY should be on an 1850 census - under another spelling/name or living
with someone else.
TRY and read every 1850 census for a HIRAM = or names of his kids

Follow each child thro on census/history=I'M Sure you have done or doing
=
for relation living close=
OR possibly a different name for HIRAM (middle name used) and same
family=
I didn't see listed on Tn Civil War - RECHECK- Blount Co, Tn records=

THERE is a CORREL connection listed on the bottom of our Blount Co , TN
page - checked out?
WHITEHEADS are close to SELLERS
I believe this e-mail sent info to SANDY which sent to us=
From: "Claudia B. Carson" <claudia-michael@postoffice.worldnet.att.net>
Contact Claudia for more CORREL info
Thanks, marie, iowa

It appears that I have finally found my Hiram Sellers from the 1860 blount
co
census.  I need to go look him up in the 1850 census to be sure.  You have
him listed it looks like under the Macon Co. NC pages as  h.k. sillers
McDowell Co.  Let me know if you have anything else on this guy.  All the
names are spelled wrong (wife)  but everything else seems to fit.  I am so
excited.  Thanks Dawn

Marie,  Can you send me the page in which all these folks are listed?   I
am
trying to tie H.K. Sellers listed in the 1860  Macon Co.. NC census to
these
people.  Also anyone that might have been in McDowell County earlier then
1860.   Does anyone know where Deep Creek is in these areas?   Thanks Dawn

DAWN - don't know if I have this Exact Letter Deed in front of me or memory
-
Maybe on BurkeCo? Long Page - Do a Search when you get there =
http://www.netins.net/showcase/sellerfamily/ncburke.htm
BUT, if you go to our MCDOWELL CO, NC page = (click on this colored line
below)
http://www.netins.net/showcase/sellerfamily/ncmcdow.htm
It will Show you that before 1842 when McDowell Co, was made that it was =
MCDOWELL CO, NC (made in 1842 from Burke, Rutherford)
lays next to BUNCOMBE
AND on the McDowell Page Those Counties Will be Hilighted/colored and you
can
click on them and read info we have collected/been sent to us by SELLERS
researchers

I Believe you have the MACON CO, NC page =
http://www.netins.net/showcase/sellerfamily/ncmacon.htm

The Hilighted/colored links on that page Should Take youto McDowell/Burke,
etc
Counties.
USE your Back button to Return.
Questions, ask, We have Helpers that Explain Much Better than I do. marie,

  I have confirmed and documented
Hiram
Sellers in the 1850 Macon County Census.  I have a copy of the original
census.  My problem locating him was that the index book published listed
him
as J.L Sellers, Deep Creek page 347.  It is a typo.  I hope someone will
let
them know.  I had been staring at J.L. for 4 years before I figured this
one
out.
Anyway here is how it is listed:

1850 Macon County "Smoky Mountains" District

Deep Creek Page 347
H.K Sellers     24  b. McDowell County, NC
Avoline         22  b.  McDowell County, NC
Martha          6   b.  McDowell County, NC
Mary            5   b.  McDowell  County, NC
Amoby           3   b. Macon county, NC  Female
James M. Jr.    3/12b Macon County, NC  Male
Lucy Caroway    50   b.  McDowell County NC
Elvira Sellars      19  b.  McDowell County, NC  Female

New Questions:   Was Elvira a married Sellers possibly to a James or was
she
a sister (unmarried) to H.K. (Hiram)?  Was Amoby and James Jr.  Elvira's
Kids
and where is the Father?   Who, Where is Hirams Father, Mother, Bros,
Sisters?  Is there a connection to the James Sellers listed in  Macon
County
census?  Hiram, Avoline, Martha & Mary moved to the 1860 Blount County
census.  Where did the others go?   Is the A. Sellars listed in the 1870
Macon County census Amoby at age 14????  Anyone with any information on
these
people would be greatly appreciated.  I am still looking for land deeds,
wills and census.
Thanks
Dawn Leonard

DAWN, you may need to check marriages on these kids = if married in TN or
NC
Hiram states born in 1826 McDowell Co, - BUT, if you Go to McDowell Co
(click on
the colored links) You find in 1826 McDowell Co was BURKE and RUTHERFORD
CO, NC =
where born.
THAN another study.
THANKS FOR SHARING, marie, iowa

I have seen Cain Creek mentioned several times with the Sellars.
Can anyone direct me or tell me Where Cain Creek Starts and Ends.  It was
listed in the deeds in Burke Co. at one point.  I know there is a Cain
Creek
over in NC today.  And my grandfather said he was raised on Cain Creek.  So
Any help would be great in locating this Cain Creek.  Thanks Dawn

You guys are wonderful...Thanks for the many replies.  If James Sellers has
land on Cane Creek in McDowell Co.  And My Hiram Sellers listed in the
Macon
Co 1850 Census says he was born in McDowell Co.  Also has a James Jr.(in
which I loose in 1860) Living with him...  Do you guys think that there
might
be any possibility that my Hiram is from this McDowell County Sellars
Family?
He was born around 1840.  Marie, you know more about these lines.
Possible?
Also I found a Winifred Sellars living next door to a Tempy Carraway (who
is
living with a Elizabeth Chandler) in the  1850 McDowell County.  Think it
is
possible that this Tempy is related to our Lucy Carraway(Carrol, Caraway)
in
my 1850 & 1860 census.  Your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again to all.

DAWN, would like to have several opinions, as many others have worked these
families and have a list of some of their kids.
But, I believe I would start in Burke Co, NC with the 1840 census and see
who has
kids born ca 1826?

1840 BURKE CO, NC =
ALDRIDGE SILLIN, PAGE 328
JAMES CHANDLER, PAGE 328
PHILIP CHANDLER, PAGE 326
LAND CHANDLER, PAGE 327
ELIZABETH CARRAWAY, PAGE 329
SAL CARRAWAY, PAGE 327

WHERE is this ETHRIDGE SELLERS in 1850:
WHO WAS HIS WIFE?
WHO IS WINNEY SELLERS wife of?

ANYONE, Thanks for your help.

I am so excited.  At our Sellers reunion a family member produced an old
family bible from Henry D. Sellers given to him in Jan.1892, a present from
Gilbert Hill.
Found some new names in there.  Here are some of them:  This is done in
Quill
pen kinda hard to make out some of it. <A
HREF="http://designsbydawn.com/sellers.htm">Click here: Sellers:  North
Carolina & Tennessee</A>
Scroll down to near the bottom for the images and click on them to see the
information.
The James M. Sellars I found in the 1850 Macon County census with H. K.
Sellars is listed.  I believe that the Laura A. may be the Amoby that is
listed.  Never heard of Jefferson D. or Andrew G..   Any ideas?

DAWN, Thanks, Nice - Now , we either have two other SELLERS out there with families OR perhaps , died young. I am Not sure , we have complete 1870/80 census on these families? May Need - Sending thro our SELLERS list in case someone has the census OR Needs this info.
marie, iowa

At that reunion I also received a
copy
of Mary Lucinda's Death certificate.  It reads as follows

Mary Lucinda Jarvis- born: April 18, 1846 (daughter of Hiram)
Place of Death: McMinn County, Tennessee, Village: Riceville
Date of Death:  May 12, 1925
age:  79
Name of Father:  Sellers, NC
Name of Mother:  Careway, NC
Witness:  W.H. Jarvis

I need help locating these Sellers/ Sellars I have found in a family bible
and or on the census.

Living with WW Sellars in the 1910 Census in Blount County Tennessee:

Rosco Sellars 14  Nephew
Roy Sellars 8 Grandson

Also

Born in NC

Laura A Sellars  born May 5, 1848
James M. Sellars born Feb 28, 1850
Jefferson D. Sellars Born Feb 2, 1861

Also listing in the 1850 Macon County Census:
Living with H.K. Sellars

Elivra Sellars 19 F
Amoby Sellars 2 F

Thanks for any and all help.
