Jan,
My grandfather was Guy Buford "Pete" Dailey of Westmoreland, Kansas.
His
father was Abner Prentice Dailey b. 1865 in Fremont
County, Iowa. Abner's
father was John Dailey b. 1836 in Vermilion
County, Illinois (m. Margaret
Ricker).
John's father, David Dailey (m. Elizabeth Sellers), was a native
of
Massachusetts born near Boston. I don't have a birth year.
In 1841 David
& family moved from Vermilion County to Parke
County Indiana, where son
John grew up. John moved to Pottawatomie
County Kansas in 1859 and
remained there until 1852. He then moved to Fremont County
Iowa until
1875, then went back to Pottawatomie County.
It seems that with the Parke County location and the name Abner in
common
there might be a connection but I don't have much else to go on.
It seems
like David would have been born around the same time as your William
&
Benjamin though.
Jane
