I have been a subscriber to the Sellers list for awhile
but have not been able to tie in anything past my gggfthr.
Noah is listed in the 1850 Census, but I have not found
him, or ties to him past that point. The census referenced
is copied below from your page:

I have included the descendants of Noah that I have in
hopes that someone else will recognize a tie in. Since it is
so long, I have broken it down into 3 sections.
I have included personal notes in brackets for info purposes.
If you (or list members) can be of any help, I would
appreciate it.
Thanks,

"Mother came to Texas in a

where he wished and it sometimes took the slower
ox
team far into the night to catch
up. Mother was born in Tennessee

age of seven in 1871, sometimes
riding on the doubletree behind
the oxen. Grandma Moore [Martha

Mother was thirty when I was born

Mother sold the farm at Telephone

with Alice and that's where she was when she
died."

Notes: (excerpts from "A
Brief Sellers History" written by
Melba Sellers White (1979)
[my mother]
"Charlie L Sellers was
born at Telephone, Texas, January 14,
1894, son of James Calhoun
and Mary Lee Moore Sellers. Some
years after his father's
death in 1901, the family sold their
small farm and moved to
Seadrift, Texas, where Charlie worked
at various small jobs--farm
jobs, railroad, and oilfield. On
Thanksgiving Day 1920, he
married Bessie Mae Holder, eldest
daughter of Oliver Newton
and Alta Myra Evans Holder, of Justin,
[Denton County], Texas,
whose families were early settlers in the
area.
Charlie took his bride to
Goosecreek, [now Baytown, Harris
County], Texas where he was
working in the oilfiled with his
brother, Sidney,
building wooden derricks. Their eldest
daughter
Melba Inez, was born there
in 1922. Six months later they
returned
to Bessie's native Denton
county, where their work was centered
around their love of the land. For 12 years they put their
energies
into farming. James Oliver,
Alta Lee, and Charles Thomas were
added
to the family. The
Depression years took their toll of family
resources and as with
others, the Sellers family's bleak future
seemed to appear brighter
if they moved to another area. They
began in Gonzales county where they lived near Charlie's
youngest
sister, Nettie, and her
family. They located on a farm near
Nixon,
Texas where they spent two
years. Due to the deteriorating
health
of Bessie, a return to
Denton county, the land of her people,
seemed the only thing to
do. They located near Ponder where the
older three children finished high school. World War II
resulted
in the scattering of the
family with Melba moving to Waco to work
with her aunt, James going
into the Army, and Alta getting
married
and moving later to
Ohio. At the end of the war Charlie and his
older son, James, bought a
farm near Sadler [Grayson County,
Texas]
where Charlie and Bessie
lived until their deaths. [Granddad
moved
to live with mother and dad
about a year before his death.]"

CHARLES - Thanks - A copy of the marriage license may show some info - I
didn't
even see marriage?
Somewhere I show John Sellers dec'd 1844, thought it was the court minutes
-
but, don't see now? Didn't see a Will, but, there could be probate records
from
the court house.
Or, John SELLERS was deeded from JOHN T. and PERSIA A. PORTER and
John
SELLERS deeded or had land next or to EASON PARSONS.
I believe land deeds and transfers are available. You may be able to ask
for a
look up on the deeds on line - they did have some extracted on A Surnames.
Thanks for helping - Next time I am reading the 1900 TX census (mine is on
film)
I will reread the age for Wm? I extracted it as 11, so wasn't a typo, but,
perhaps not easy to read? Thanks, marie, iowa

Just a note of clarification on the marriage date of Noah Sellers and Timney
Parsons --
The date of marriage of 1846 was originally based solely on a projected date
as stated due to land records found in Anson County, NC, based on a posting
to Marie's old website
http://showcase.netins.net/web/sellerfamily/ncmarr.htm
From: bill autry <gpautry@sgi.net>
To: <SELLERS-L@rootsweb.com>
Subject: Posted NC Sellers Weddings
Date: Wednesday, February 09, 2000 10:13 AM.
No actual record of the marriage has been found that I know of.
The "Cheraw/Chesterfield District Wills, 1750-1865 & Abstracts from
the
Court of Common Pleas 1823-1869" by James Pigg shows Timney as the wife
of
Noah in 1843 -(Ratliff, William H. vs. Mary Parsons Adm. et al - Bill for
account & c 1843).
The ancestry I have on Noah is Noah>William Sellers & Gilly Eddings>Phillip
Sellers & Rebecca ?>Hardy Sellers & Mary Cook
Noah & Timney Sellers children in birth order were:
James Calhoun, born 12/25/1841, South Carolina
William A., born 1842, South Carolina
Thomas E., born 10/01/1844, South Carolina
Andrew Jackson, born 1846, South Carolina
Susannah, born 1849, Tennessee
Mary Annettie, born 1851, Tennessee
G W (grave marker only source), born 10/15/1855 (Nebo Cemetery, Henderson
Co., TN)
Joseph (Josiah), born 1857, Henderson Co., Tennessee
Of the children, James, William, Andrew, Susannah, and Mary, all came to
Texas. Andrew returned to Tennessee and married then moved to OK.
No death records have been found for Noah. He is last shown in the 1880
census for Madison Co., TN. Timney came to Texas with the children listed.
She, according to my grandfather, was buried in Ellis Co., TX.
At present my web page is outdated and in limbo. My old service provider
has not yet removed it from their server and I have not moved it to my new
provider.

CHARLES, thank you very much for explaining and sending documents.
This will help understand and follow these families.
Do you have copy of this complete document?
Why didn't it list 1843 as marriage date instead of 1846 OR is there more
info in document?
Is this how William SELLERS marriage to MARY PARSONS was proven?
do you have that extraction?
Where is he in 1850/60?
Is there Another Wm SELLERS connect to a Sarah Parsons? memory.
I will include your note in that marriage so others understand, but, it
would be nice to have the document Shown with each entry.
Thank you for helping and sharing SELLERS.

This is part of what I have on Noah's ancestry. Note that Noah's father, William, married Gilly Edding but she gave a court declaration after his death that they were never married. Also Noah had a brother, William, that married the sister of his wife. "Frozen Bill" Sellers (Noah's brother) has had much posted on him in several websites, so I did not include.
Also noted a couple days ago, a question about Noah's son's name. ANDREW JACKSON SELLERS is listed in granddad's Bible as his uncle and brother of his father James Calhoun Sellers.
I have changed IP and my website ("The Southern Whitehouse") is no longer open.

CHARLES, thank you.
I would like to have a copy of the court declaration. Do you have copy?
This would show Proof of same to all of us. Esp me. I have to SEE, read all
names etc.
Yes, we use extractions to Go back to the source of Proof. Then we need copy of original.
Is this in the PIGG extractions? I do not have and we don't have many shared. We shouldn't all have to order this book to share SELLERS extractions?!
I did find an extraction of the PARSONS will, but, it is always better to
have a COPY of original and ALL papers pertaining to same.
And don't have Mary Parsons and kids continued on , do you? NEED
IF YOU don't have, Send source and number so, we can order.
Thank you for sharing and keeping us up to date.
WILLIAM SELLERS went to ALABAMA (marie gulledge wiggins) = WHO /which one, age and where is he?
Where is a time line/census on ANY of this family??
NEED
Sorry, I don't know who Frozen Bill Sellers is or his wife or kids?
I don't think I found NOAH SELLERS in 1840 - did you?
Please understand my questions . Help where you can.
Thanks for the BIBLE info. Have you sent a copy of same on all info? Might help a lot of people. And a very good documentation!
