I am having a bit of a problem. In trying to help my mother-in-law
with a family reunion in two weeks, we've found more questions than
Does anyone have information regarding the burial of Mary Lizzie
SELLERS and/or a child named Paul SELLERS in the above counties or
possibly northern Florida?
We have a family mystery. My husband's grandmother died two
without knowing much about her paternal lines. Her father was William
Franklin SELLERS. His parents were John P and Martha (Mattie) WATTS
SELLERS. William Franklin married at least twice. It is possible he
married first in 1901. We do know that he married Mary Lizzie Hornsby in
1903 in Calhoun County. It is speculated they had a son named Paul
who died prior to 1909 when they had Lizzie SELLERS. Mary Lizzie
died within a few days of the birth. Soon Mary Lizzie's sister,
Leila came to help with the baby and married William Franklin. THey
had a daughter, Annie Grace who was my mother-in-law's mother.
Family history is that the Sellers family had little to do with
William Franklin despite the deaths of his wife and child.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

her father, William Franklin SELLERS born March 3, 1878
died December 30, 1940
married 1st Mary L (Lizzie) HORNSBY in 1903 in Decatur
County, Georgia. They had a son, Paul, who died as an
infant. In 1910 they had a daughter, Lizzie. Mary died
a few days later, apparently from complications from
childbirth. Soon after Mary's sister, Leila, came to
help, married William Franklin and they had Annie Grace
It is entirely possible he was married in 1901 to the
KINCHEN listed on the Decatur County Marriage record. If
so, this is the first time anyone in the family has heard
about it, but we can't account for any other William
