CARLAH - We have a few members working on these children of Mathew and
Catherine and some deeds that prove son Benjamin that died ca 1761 with
will
and guardianship papers that prove some of his kids. And his son Mathew
/married Ann Corbett that left a will naming his kids.

I do have a DRURY SELLERS history written discussing these same people,

believe a Bible mentioned.
AND we do have the correction from Mrs Laker , connected somehow, believe

had done some of the SELLERS research
AND then someone had sent her the MATHEW BACON SELLERS letter on his
Mother.
(I Never did Understand that either (why someone would send you a letter

my mother was - but, nevertheless thats what we have, msh )

I am scanning copys of all of the bible's pages that pertain to the
sellers.
I don't believe that any one but myself and cousin Susan knew about the
bible.
I also am trying to proof read some old documents that were in a trunk of
my ggrandma sellers
Hope to have this all done and gotten out to you by this weekend.

What part do I send I have about 50 pages. There is a time line on him.
also=his sister(mary ann) that married #1=Elisha Dorman and later
#2=Sellers=had a daughter named PHOEBE after Elisha died and she was
refered to as PHOEBE Sellers in letter from her aunt= Sarah Elizabeth
Dorman Ross. Theis letters are in the care of Marion Rose =gg?grand
daughter of Sarah. She has sent copys.
There was nothing legal I could find on the Indian slaying of their parents
only a letter from a grandmother to Elizabeth telling her of the deaths.
I am still searching with the CAMPBELL CLAN SOC. on this.

and Lavinia's name was LAURA Lavinia and she is listed as Laura age 39 TN
in that census.

He also show up in MaCoupin County Illinois Jun 1885 to Jan 1886 then Feb
1887 to Nov 1891 Litchfied, Montgomery,Illinois
and died 18jul 1896 Mt. Grove Wright, MO.

I got this from a cousin (John Batson) on Carlah's side
(Dorman/Campbell/Sellers)
This is suppost to be the Mary Ann that married Sellers after the death of
Eli Dorman.
This is the Mary Ann that is Carlah's Great grandfather's (Dennis Campbell)
Sister
She was born in Bourban co, Ky.
Help me sort this out!

Notes for MARY ANN CAMPBELL:
- We have 2 conflicting stories concerning Mary Ann: 1) Her mother was
killed by the Indians when Mary Ann was 7 years old. 2) Mary Ann was
killed at a fort by the Indians while visiting her soldier husband. The
second story says that her husband and 2 youngest children were killed as
well. Her daughter Sarah was said to have been about 12 years old at this
time, which would have been 1862. (According to the story, my mother,
Myrtle Herzig Batson, told me when I was about 12, I recall it being that
Sarah was about 12. In later years, in dictating the story to her sister
Velma, she recorded it that Sarah was about 14.) I understand that the
"about" indicates that her age could have been as much as 2 years on either
side of 14.
- I believe that Mary Ann died in 1862, as her son Andrew listed his uncle
Dennis Campbell as his guardian when he joined the Union army in August of
1862. Dennis, who was Mary Ann's brother, signed for Andrew to join. If we
can find proof of her death, then we can know Sarah's age when her mother
died.
- We only have a record of one child (1 yr old in 1860 census), named
Pricilla (or Priscilla) who could not have been Elisha's. It's possible
that Mary Ann could have had another child between 1860 and 1862, so that
she could have taken two children with her to a fort to see a soldier.
Then, it is possible that it was Mary Ann's mother who had two children who
died with her in a fort, when Mary Ann was only 7 (according to the first
story). That would have been about 1832, about the time of the Black Hawk
War.
