For sometime I thought that J. R. SELLERS might be the brother of James
Harvey
SELLERS, as he is supposed to have had a brother John SELLERS.
Since J.R.
SELLERS turned out to be James Rodman SELLERs, I doubt if there would
be
two James in one family with both living. I still feel
that there must
have been
some connection as James Harvey SELLERS moved to the near vicinity
of that
of
the former residence of James Rodman SELLERS in Lake County, CA.

While exploring the Georgetown Divide and American River Canyon, near
my
residence in Cool, El Dorado County, California, near Sutter's Mill
(the
first gold find in California), I ran across a quaint cemetery deep
in the
forest. One of the tombstone was that of Joseph Sellers.
The tombstone was handcarved from granite, which probably came from
the
granite mines in this area, and says:
Joseph Sellers
A native of Franklin Co. NY
Died 2/10/1876
Aged 28 years, 5 mos & 28 days
I don't know, but giving the history of the area, it could very well
be
that Mr. Sellers was a gold miner as most of the old graves in this
area were
either miners, trappers, etc.
Maybe somebody is looking for Joseph and I was able to help!
Thanks,
Ginny English
