Thank you very, very much for this information. This brings
all sorts of
possibilities to mind.
I will stay in touch.

I am trying to digest the information you provided earlier re William
Sellers
and John Sellers.
What is the meaning of the term "transported"? Does that mean
Christopher
Reynolds brought William Sellers to Isle of Wight County in servitude?
Or am
I being confused by earlier assumptions on my part?
Is there any information any where regarding John Sellers' birth date?
Just for fun I viewed some of the "information" on the INTERNET re
Arthur
Smith... there were lots of them!
Thanks again...
Bob Sellers
ALL, Somewhere there is a description of Who, How, Why they transported
these people into VA.
I am Sure Someone Can explain Better and More complete than I have
- as
I don't seem to have original ?
They were given so much land for each person, etc. they brought with
them.
Didn't have to be family members. But, they probably lived close
in the
area they came from? msh.
IT is NOT Easy to connect thro to Where John SELLERS went.
WE are Missing connecting years of info. GLAD we have what we do.

======
My SELLERS Family follows from WILLIAM SELLER who first appears in
legal
documents in Isle of Wight County, the Virginia Colony, in 1657.
As near as
I have been able to determine it "tracks" as:
WILLIAM SELLER, b. UNKNOWN, England
JOHN SELLER, b. ~ 1640, Isle of Wight Co VA
MATTHEW SELLERS, b. ~1678, IoW co
BENJAMIN SELLERS, b. 1710, IoW co
BENJAMIN SELLERS, b. ~ 1735, Bertie Co NC
WRIGHT SELLERS, b. ~ 1766, NC
BENJAMIN DUNCAN SELLERS, b. 1794, Bladen
Co NC
DANIEL BELL SELLERS, b. Aug 10, 1834, Hayneville, Lowndes
Co AL
BENJAMIN ELVIN SELLERS, b. Aug 21, 1880, McKenzie, Butler
Co AL
ELVIN BOYKIN SELLERS, b. Jul 22, 1915, Georgiana, Butler Co AL
ROBERT GORDON SELLERS - Living
WILLIAM BEAUREGARD SELLERS, - Living
My primary interest is in determining the origins of WILLIAM SELLER.
I know
quite a bit about Benjamin Duncan down through William Beauregard,
my son. I
am interested in learning as much as possible about William Seller
down
through Wright.
Bob Sellers
Thought I sent you a note yesterday...if I didn't, I'm sorry, for
I meant to
do so.
On Monday of this week I had an opportunity to visit the New Orleans
library.
While there, I picked up a book on wills of Barbados.
In it was a will for
a JOHN REDWOOD of St. Phillips Parish, Barbados, who had passed
in 1660.
Earlier, he had been married to ELIZABETH LNU...who, subsequently,
married
JOHN SELLER. JOHN SELLER and ELIZABETH SELLER, in 1668, signed
documents
providing for the disposition of JOHN REDWOOD's estate. I
am assuming
(perhaps incorrectly) that JOHN and ELIZABETH SELLER were in Barbados
to sign
the document.
In any event, if ELIZABETH was married to JOHN REDWOOD...who died
in
1660...she would (probably) have been in her late teens or early
twenties on
the marriage date (unknown). So, if ELIZABETH LNU married JOHN REDWOOD
in
1660, the year of his death, we can say that she was approximately
20 years
old at the time.
Similarly, for JOHN SELLER to have married her (remember, the two
of them
"appear" in Isle of Wight Co. VA in 1722 when they sell land previously
owned
by WILLIAM SELLER), I am assuming, again, that they were of the
same
approximate age.
If the above is correct...or nearly so...then JOHN SELLER, son of
WILLIAM
SELLER, had to have been born around 1640
Let me know what you think.
Bob Sellers
Bob,
You did. I guess I had a brain cramp. Happens to us old folks every
now and
then.
I ran across the Elizabeth Sellers/Redwood legal stuff on the web
some time
ago, but discounted it because I had no way of knowing whether or
not it was
the same John & Elizabeth Sellers who sold William's land in
Isle of Wight VA
in 1714. If it was, it pretty much proves William arrived in Isle
of Wight &
served his period of Indenture in the 1630's. Before this Barbados
transaction came up, the earliest record we have of an adult John
Sellers in
Isle of Wight was when he witnessed a will in 1686. I hope we can
establish
one way or the other whether or not he is the same John Sellers
involved as
Elizabeth's husband in the Barbados transaction in 1668.
