Marie, I received a forward of your email to Esther Dixon
(Manning) Sellers was my paternal great-grandfather. His parents were John
and Keziah Sellers. He married Catherine Dixon on 30 May 1884. Their

The above is listed in the 1900 GA Census in Charlton
District N. 959, sheet #15.
I do not have very much entered into my Family Tree Maker yet (I just
bought the program). However, I do have a lot of info on the Sellers.
Look for John and Keziah in the Appling County, GA
census for 1850, 1860,
and Charlton County in 1870, 1880.
You list John Sellers as son of Samuel. The information that I have is
that John's parents were John Sellers and Jane Carter (father Mathew
Carter, Jr., R.S., mother unknown) of Duplin County, NC. John and Jane
were married July 28, 1798 in Bullock County, GA. This John Sellers's
father was Samuel Sellers, R.S. (father Samuel Sellers, mother unknown) and
mother was Zelpha Sellars (father Samuel Sellars and mother Hannah -
married in Dublin County, NC in 1746). John and Zelpha were married in
Dublin County, NC May 11, 1767.
Most of the above information came from Pioneer Settlers of Wiregrass
Georgia and my independent research. I'm sorry this is not already in
Family Tree Maker, but I hope this helps.
I would love to hear from you and how you are related.

BETTY, Thank You Very Much - I use Wiregrass also, but, don't believe I

John M. Sellers owned the property in Appling County outside of Baxley
where the Sellers Family Cemetary is located. I met his g??-grandson David
Sellers who now owns the property and lives in a house there. I guess
Huxley discoved this after the first books were printed. John M. Sellers
is related to John Sellers that married Keziah. I believe first cousins.
I believe John M.'s father was Samuel, Jr. or III and of course John's
father was John; I believe that Samuel, Jr or III and John were brothers
because both's fathers were Samuel Sellers. Is this confusing enough?
I've run into a blank wall on my maternal side Sellers. Even more
confusing when you have Sellers on both sides of your family. My

Interesting enough, I am originally from Jacksonville, FL and my maiden
was SELLERS. Are your immediate SELLERS from the North Florida area. My
grandfather was from Charlton County, GA (outside of Folkston) and moved
Jacksonville in the very early 1900s. His mother and brothers moved to
Nassau County, FL.
Would like to hear from you, bp
