My grandfather,born in 1865, was Thomas Sellars married to Mertie Moore.
They
eloped in Guthrie, Okla in 1898. They later moved to Missouri. My great
grandfather was also Thomas Sellars married to Ellen. They had two sons and
one daughter Castilia and lived in Ohio. The name was changed from Sellers
to
Sellars when he immigrated to this country. I have pictures and other info
I
will share. My great grandfather was from Scotland or Ireland. If anyone
can
help me to find out more information I would be very grateful. My e-mail

WE NEED a NAME, When and Where Born = Start with your Oldest PROVEN
SELLERS.
AND when/where a child born
OTHERWISE, you can't PROVE Which Family.
SOMETIMES, our SELLERS moved often AND sometimes the LAND they lived in was
Changed to another county name , etc.
THEIR  info may Not Match YOUR CHILD, But, if you supplied the
brothers/sisters,
SOMEONE may CONNECT TO them in THAT COUNTY?
WHEN/WHERE did Granddad die?
WE DON'T need the Older Unproven Info ?
WE NEED THE newer PROVEN info and will WORK Back to PROVEN OLDER INFO.

Thanks so much for your help. I have the following info for you. I'll
begin with my grandfather.

 Thomas Robert Sellars , born April 03, 1865 in Ohio.
 sister Castilia  born?
 brother Henry? (my older sister thinks he had a brother named Henry, but
she
is not
 sure.)
 Thomas Robert Sellars and his family were burned out in the Great Chicago
Fire in 1871.
    Thomas Robert married Mertie Maud Moore in 1898 in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
They homesteaded in Calhen, Oklahoma for a couple of years.
They moved to St. Louis and became an optometrist.
Thomas and Mertie had two children.
The older was Thomas Moore Sellars born Aug 23, 1899 in St. Louis, MO
The younger one was Mertie I. Sellars born Jan.24, 1901 in Ozark, MO and
died
Jan. 1947 in St. Louis, MO.
    Thomas Moore Sellars married Ester Maddox. They had 2 girls, Ellen &
Diane, and a son, Thomas Moore, Jr.
    Mertie I. Sellars married Barney Baker in June, 1918. Barney Baker was
born Sept. 01, 1964.

All of this information is proven except Henry Sellars. I have a marriage
license, and death certificates. That is all I have been able to find so
far
after four years of searching. I can't tell you how grateful I am to you
for
your assistance. I had all but given up hope because I ran into so many
dead
ends. I apparently don't know where or how to search very well and have
never
been in a chat room. I have used search engines, scanned thousands of
passenger lists on boats, tried to look at census records, all to no avail.

AVON, Do we have an obit for THOMAS ROBERT SELLERS 1865 OH?
Married When = before he went to OK?
OR married somewhere else and went to OK?
DIED WHEN= WHERE?=

PERHAPS you have answered some of this before. BUT, theres TOO much we Don't Know to Try and Trace/Follow.

HIS parents were in COOK CO, IL in 1871 = but, don't see on 1870 Census or 1880.
There is a Thomas Robert SELLERS died 1905 in Cook? Co, IL, but, didn't see on 1900 census.
Most of my census this new are soundex and Do Not list All families.

THESE 1870 CENSUS are hard to come by AND thats what we need to find some of your kids at home.

There was a CASTILLA SELLERS married 1873 PAULUS EVERS in HENRY CO, OHIO
OUR collected info on HENRY CO, OH = not much
IF ANYONE has, please send.

There was a THOMAS SELLERS born 1856 OH, in the 1870 HANCOCK CO, IL INDEX
There was a ROBERT SELLERS 11 IL, IN 1870 COOK CO, IL INDEX
and an ISAAC SELLERS 8 il in 1870 COOK CO, IL INDEX

NOW, the fire was in CHICAGO, COOK CO, IL?

WE REALLY NEED to find an exact marriage place, exact census place, exact death and START there!
MISSOURI GENWEB has some good info also.

Hello. Thanks for the new information you gave me. I sent in a request for
a
death certificate from Cook County, IL as a result of your information.
It's too late for the mail today, but I will get it in posted tomorrow. I hope I
get a positive result. I had to list a city not just the county so I put
down
Chicago since I know they lived there once before. I also know they lived
in
Peoria, IL at one time too. To avoid confusion I will refer to my
grandfather
Thomas Robert Sellars as a jr. . He was born April 03, 1865 in Ohio and
died
on September 13, 1934 in St.Louis, MO. He was an Optometrist in St. Louis,
MO. for many years. I have the address of his home and office, but I don't
know how to use that to find any information.
    My great-great grandfather Thomas Robert Sellars, Sr. practiced
Optoometry and sold jewelry. Their whole family was living in Chicago, IL
when the Great Fire occurred in October 8, 1871. My great-great grandfather
and the older children ran to the jewelry store to try to save what they
could from looters. My great grandmother was forced to evacuate the house
by
authorites due to the fire. She told my grandfather, who was 6 then, to run
to the lake. He often played down there and knew a boat captain. The last
boat was leaving when the captain spotted him and told him to jump. He made
it. Somehow they all go united again, but I don't know how.       I will
try

DON'T believe Vickie sent All the Kids of ? only the son Morris SELLERS that came this way.thats memory.
