We are
searching for any information on a Monroe Sellers. He is
suppose to
have a brother named John. Monroe was in the state of Alabama
around
Coffee
County in 1900.his spouse was Ida Spears. His first son
George
Washington (BUDDY) Sellers was born in or near Samson
Alabama in
1900. The second son, Jay (JD) Sellers was born 1903
in or near Samson
Alabama. His third son, my grandfather, James
Hollis Sellers was born
1907.It is said that they had a daughter,
Ethel Sellers, no further
information. It is said that Monroe died in
1908 from falling in a well
that was being dug.I have searched what
on line census I could find and
cemetery records for Piney Grove
where it is said he was buried. I have
come up with NOTHING. ANY
information or suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The James M. Sellers
married to Ida is the one I have been SEARCHING for.
He
is
my great grandfather and we know Very little of him. James died in 1908
and Ida did marry an Earnest Hall. Where did you get this info? I
have
tried
SO MANY web sights that I can't remember when I
visited which one last.
I can't tell you how much this means to me. I
guess my grandfather James
Hollis Sellers didn't fall out of the sky
after all. Please any other info
you have on either James Monroe or
Ida would be greatly appreciated. Ida's
grand daughter from her
marriage to Earnest is looking for info to so I
will
pass
this on to her.
Again thank you so very much!!!

ALICE - Great - USGENWEB is a good place to find county/state info -
when
you
know the location of your family. You can search
their info on line and
they do
some lookups, which helps
you get started in right direction. He may have
an
obit also, which gives family members sometimes and where they went.
You may be able to find some cousins or other info on our Coffee and
Geneva
Co,
AL pages =

and if you find new SELLERS info, please share a copy
with us. marie, iowa
My grandfather, James Hollis Sellers b;1905 Coffee County, son of
James
Monroe, was about two when Monroe died so very little is known
about this
family.
Monroe it is said was a very mean man
and died when he fell into a well. It
is said that he was pushed into
the well by a relative of someone he was
supposed to have killed?
I have searched what records and census I can find on the Internet but
have
come up with nothing.
A distant cousin has said that
James Monroe is buried in Piney Grove
Cemetery
and William
H.H. Sellers is buried at Friendship Baptist Church cemetery.
I have
looked at the fills of Piney Grove off the Coffee County sight and
cannot find him.
ANY information or suggestions would be
greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Alice

ALICE - will send thru our SELLERS group. CYNTHIA has searched these
families and
IF she has the census reading for:
And
She May know this family?

SELLARS, PAGE 770 ELECTION PREC
or
1870 GENEVA CO, AL
EVERLINE SELLERS, page 573
THOMAS SELLERS page 605
and perhaps, we could see if your Wm H.H. SELLERS born ca 1845? is on

There is a possibility he was only 25 in the 1880
census? and misread?
OTHERWISE, You could ask for a look up on those county/state pages, till
we

him.

Hi to all,
I am new at this sight and I hope you will bear
with me while I try to
figure
out my Sellers
connections.
My grandfather was James Hollis Sellers born 1907 Coffee
County
My great grandfather was James Monroe Sellers born
1875-1876 Coffee County.
My great great grandfather was William H.H.
Sellers born 1845-1846 in Pike
County (we believe).
Here
is where I have a problem, in the 1860 Pike County census it list a
Phillip W. Sellers, spouse Lidia with children
William 14
George W. 11
Theophilus R. 8
On the 1870 Pike
county census it list Peter W. Sellers, with wife Lidia
and
children
William 25
Rebecca 18 (I believe Rebecca
is Williams wife)
Alphie 21
As Phillip and Peter both hail
from South Carolina and are both the same
age
and both
have wives named Lidia , are these two people the same person?
Any
information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
for your time,
Alice Curt

While at the library yesterday I was looking through the Pike County
Census
for the years 1860 and 1870. I copied ALL the Sellers that was
listed for
those years. There were alot. If anyone would like a copy
I would be more
than happy to get them a copy.
I will be
going back to the library next Monday or Tuesday so if someone
needs
something looked up I would be happy to do so. They have census for
Georgia, Alabama, and some Fla. I live in Alabama and it takes about
an
hour
to get there, so I don't go all the time.
I hope this information will be helpfull to someone and might even help
me
to
find out who William H.H. Sellers parents were.

Mglbi2@aol.com
Well all I am truly confused now. I think that my great great
grandfather William H.H. Sellers was born in Alabama, or so it says on
the
1880 Coffee County Alabama census. While finally getting to talk
to my two
oldest Aunts and both were having a GOOD day, they both
said that William's
parents were from Texas, not very nice people and
had something to do with
the James gang(?) I know that William is
buried at Friendship Baptist
Church Cemetery in Coffee County
Alabama,his stone reads H.H. Sellers, I
know that his spouse was
Rebecca Chambers, I know they had eight children
James Monroe
1876,Harriett Anna Elizabeth 1878,Callie G. 1880, William
Frank 1885,
Will 1888,Lacy A. 1889, John Washington 1893, David Percy 1894,
all
the childre were born in Victoria, Coffee County, Alabama, and that
William died in 1900.William was born in 1845-46, Pike County I
think!
> ANY SUGGESTIONS OR IDEAS???????????

Curt
> Mglbi2@aol.com.
ALICE, I believe you/we have connect to 1900? AL? - perhaps some of the
Other Kids went on to TX and that is her father and perhaps Brother to ?
USE
Dates with their NAMES, helps separate families and kids
TRY a Chart =
Names, Dates, Places on Her/Their Family of SELLERS connection.
Many of our Records only go to 1920, But, sometimes, you can find Birth Yr
and Place and Then study that county, they lived.
Thanks, One Job at a Time,
