James D Sellers Funeral Conducted.
Elba. Funeral services for James Douglas Sellers well known farmer of the Liberty Church community who died at his home Wednesday night following an illness of about six months were held at the Bonneau-Jeter Funeral Chapel in Elba on Thursday afternoon with the Rev. O Fox pastor of the Baptist Church, officiating.
Mr. Sellers was born in Chesterfield, S C on October 14, 1868 (?) but had made his home in Coffee County for many years.
Surviving are one son, ** Sellers and one daughter, Miss Elzie Sellers, of Elba, one sister, Mrs. D H Ellis Charlotte, N C; two brothers, D C Sellers, Chesterfield, S C, and P H Sellers, Bocaraton, Florida.
Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery. Pallbearers were James Folsom, Guy Folsom, J Ross Clark, Wiley Gatlin, Shirley Gatlin, J C Coon.
Bonneau-Jeter Company, had charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Helen Player Sellers 95, died Wednesday, Dec 16, 1998 at
Wesley
Manor
Nursing Facility following an extended illness.
Graveside funeral services will be 10 a. m. Monday at Memory Hill
Cemetery
with
Dr. Samuel Maddox officiating and Ward-Wilson Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Sellers was born to Mr. and Mrs. T.L. Player of Blountstown,
Fla., on
Feb.
13, 1903.
She attended Florida State College for Women at Tallahassee and
later
attended business college in Dothan. She worked in Dothan prior
to her marriage to
Carl E. Sellers, who served as Houston County Tax Collector and
Probate Judge.
Mrs. Sellers was a faithful member of First Baptist Church where
she taught a
ladies’ Sunday School class for many years. Since 1988 she has resided
at Wesley
Manor.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl, in 1976.
She is survived by their only daughter, Mary Helen Wilson and son-in-law,
Rev. T.W. Wilson, Montreat, N.C.; one grandson, Rev. Jim Wilson,
Orlando, Fla.;
one granddaughter, Sally Wilson Pereira, Black Mountain, N.C.; six
great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters,
Mrs
Hazel Holloman, Dothan, Mrs. Virginia Manley, Eufaula.

Mr. Victor Osborne Sellers, 81 of 4267 S. Park, Dothan, died at
his
residence.
Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the chapel
of First

Church of Dothan, Dr. Bob Gross officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday morning from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at

Mr. Sellers was a native of Houston County and was born in Dothan
on Dec.
28,1917. He ia the son of the late John Rushen Sellers and Clara
Mae
Brooks
Sellers. Mr Sellers was last employed as a supervisor with Columbus
Mills
in
Eufaula. He was also the former owner of Economy Auto in Eufaula.
Mr
Sellers was
a member of First Baptist Church in Dothan and attended Auburn University.
Victor Sellers also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Merlin S. Sellers; son, Clifton
P.
Sellers;
brother, Brooks R. Sellers; sister, Regina Sellers McGregor.
He is survived by three sons, Leroy R. Sellers, Waverly, Ala., Leslie

MRS. PRIDGEN DIED EARLY THIS MORNING.
Was Taken Ill Saturday And Dies This Morning At 3 O'Clock.
Mrs. Z T Pridgen died this morning at 3 o'clock at the Pridgen home on
North
Oates street, from an attack of stomach trouble that came on Saturday.
Prior to
that time she had been in good health and her death was unexpected.
Her husband, Dr. Pridgen, was in Atlanta at the time of her death,
having gone
over there Wednesday, but he arrived today.
Mrs. Pridgen was a first cousin of the late General Oates. She was
twice
married; first to a Collins, and from that union the following children
survive:
W. A. Collins, of Corpus Christi, Tex., ; Mrs. W F Young, of Vienna,
Va.; Mrs.
J. L. Sowell, of New Orleans; John Collins, of Westville, Fla.; and
Dave Collins
of Macon, Ga. After the death of Mr. Collins, she was married to Dr. Z
T
Pridgen, and their children are: Dr. O G Pridgen, of Atlanta; Mrs. E H
Hill, of
this city; Lester Pridgen, of Shrevesport, La.; and Coy Pridgen of
Tulsa, Okla.
All of their children have been notified of the death of their mother,
and the
funeral will not take place till tomorrow, to give them time to get
here.
Mr. Carl Sellers of near Columbia is a brother of the deceased.
Mrs. Pridgen was about 59 years old and was reared in this county,
southeast of
town, but she has lived in Dothan with her husband almost since the
town
started, and was held in high esteem by all who knew her. ______ FUNERAL NOTICE
The funeral of Mrs. Z T Pridgen will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2
o'clock at
the residence on North Oates street. The burial will take place at the
city
cemetery.

Enterprise Youth Seriously Injured.
Enterprise-Lynox Lee Sellers, five, was injured seriously yesterday afternoon when struck by a car in front of his home here. His father, Howell Sellers, is stationed at Camp Rucker.
Policeman Ned Wall said the automobile driven by M L Blackmon of Cottonwood Wall said the accident apparently was unavoidable and no charge was filed.
Attaches at an Enterprise hospital said the child suffered serious back and
head injuries, a fractured left leg and a hand injury. The accident occurred
about 2:30 east of downtown Enterprise.

J. E. Sellers, Sr.
Funeral services for J E Sellers, Sr., seventy, who died yesterday at his home
in Slocomb, were held this afternoon at the Slocomb Methodist Church. The Rev.
Mr. Fuller and the Rev. Mr. Harden officiated and interment in the Slocomb Cemetery
was directed by Ward-Wilson .
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs Burnelle Armstrong, of Slocomb; a son, J E Sellers, Jr., Slocomb; a brother, T L Sellers, Bonifay; a sister, Mrs. Julia Sanders, Chipley, and three grandchildren.

Funeral of Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Byrd, eighty-nine, who died Tuesday afternoon at her home on Hartford route two following an illness of several months, was held Wednesday afternoon at Mt. Gilead church with the Rev. Will Davis and J J Collins officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Holman of Hartford in charge.
Mrs. Byrd is survived by five sons, J. R. and E. B. Byrd, of Geneva, and W.
L., J. D. and A. M. Byrd, of Hartford; two daughters, Mrs. Mary F. McClenney
and Mrs. J J Sellers, of Hartford, and two brothers, J. A. and B. T. Kinsaul,
of Hartford.
